If you have never seen this film...buy it. Quite simply one of the BEST films ever made (in my humble opinion)...and at this price to boot. If you doubt me, just look up ANY review.

Four ordinary men in two canoes navigate a river they only know as a line on a map, taking on a wilderness they only think they understand.

Deliverance, written by James Dickey based on his novel, surges with the urgency of masterful storytelling, like Georgia's Chattooga River along which it was shot. Equally masterful is the portrayal of each man's change of character under stress, harrowingly enacted by award winners Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox. Director John Boorman sets us on the knife-edge of survival - and draws us in with the irresistible force of a raging current.

There's a good chance this is a remaster since its anamorphic and there's also a HD-DVD version so there would be a good source.

Not a bad price but I've lost all confidence with play over the printer fiasco, I;m surprised there is still as much interest in play on this forum.

The picture quality of the dvd is awesome, and the top notch photography of the film makes it feel timeless, it really could have been made last week.

Anyone who likes this film - I really, strongly recommend a recent movie called Eden Lake, it swaps hillbillies/mutants/aliens etc for chavs who terrorise a couple on a vacation, and it is unbelievably terrifying.

Timeless classic; I watched it 35 years ago in a cinema and again a week ago on DVD.

Still got the same buzz from watching it.......I wonder how many of today's mega-multi-million dollar "blockbusters" will be being watched in 35 years time.

Yes, an amazing piece of musical talent. We used to have two guys who played this scene in local bars. \i remember one was elderly and the other was quite young (early 20s). Folks would just gape when the music reached its climax!

Heat addded.
