Good price for toners from them, Dell want between £47.50 to £68 each per toner

cracking printer. had mine 2 years but only paid £28 for it as a returned/refurbed printer - not bad when it had only done 18 sheets from new.

As this is supplied from a Jersey company, having read the sites Ts&Cs, I'm not clear if the advertised price includes VAT or not, the first sentence suggests that it is VAT inc, but then it goes on to say...... Anybody know?

"The prices payable for goods as set out in the web site are, inclusive of VAT and shipping/handling costs. Consignments imported by individuals to the UK of a value of £17.99 or under are relieved from import VAT and duties under current legislation. For goods priced at £18 and above imported by you into the UK we will, unless you inform us otherwise, arrange for VAT at 15% and any applicable Customs duty due on your importation to be paid to HM Revenue and Customs. This procedure is for your convenience only and is specific for the importations you make into the UK. This arrangement does not change any of the relevant terms and conditions mentioned in this document. For the avoidance of doubt, you are and will remain the importer of all goods ordered by you and shipped to an address outside Jersey and will at all times remain liable for any import VAT, Customs or other duty chargeable thereon. For purchases by UK businesses, no evidence of payment of UK import VAT can be provided."

Just spoke to them on the phone, the price includes UK VAT. The price you see is the price you pay:thumbsup:

Ordered and heat added:-D:thumbsup:

You’re hired:thumbsup:

For info...

Sounds like it comes with non-genuine cartridges instead of the original Dell ones with the actual printer.

Do the cartridges last far longer than a normal inkjet?
#10
Good deal, but I don't really know if it's worth it against a inkjet printer. The speed is not that high.

:?It's good enough for me:thumbsup: The reviews on Amazon look good

Is this not a rebadged lexark? Lexmark are **** and **** and very ****.
#13
Does anyone know what the quality of this printer is like for printing photos - not family snaps, but photos for reports and suchlike?
#14
Not for photos, we had one of these at work.
#15
An inkjet is way better for photos. However if they are photos for reports then it's probably ok. Remember the toner life is usually reported as 5% coverage per page.

I use an old, make that very old (1993) mono HP Laserjet 4P to print University work, toner cart prints over 3,000 pages and I've used it for 2 years. Laser printers make much more sense for printing mono and some colour. With an inkjet you should really print money with one as the inks cost loads. I'd only use an inkjet now for hi-res photos, and if I was printing many then I'd use a continuous ink system or better still pay for an online service and get them printed. The toners are cheap for the Dell. You can get toner carts for as little as £11.50 inc delivery each. Toner life on the 1320c is 2,000 pages per toner cart. I consider toner carts to be a rip off in laser printers as well. All a toner cart is, is a delivery system to the developer unit. Just a rectangular plastic box containing toner which loads the developer unit with toner, they should cost almost nothing really. I would guess this Dell is about as cheap as you can get for toner carts.

I have this printer and it wipes the floor with the two Epson inkjets that I have....in speed anyway. The kids hammer the Dell and I've yet to have to get replacement carts and I've had it nearly 12 months. When I bought it, I also purchased some bottles of refill toner.....hopefully, they'll work!
#17
Anyone know how many text pages you would get out of this before replacing the carts?

Did you buy it from this company who are supplying the non-genuine cartridges (and taking out the Dell originals) ?? - As the toners probably have a different amount in them ?

Thanks

you should check the yield of the supplied carts....the genuine Dell that would be inside the box would give half the normal yeild, i.e. 1000pages.

If IJT Direct are supplying their refilled carts that give the normal 2000 page yield, then this is a hot deal. Although I doubt Dell would honour the warranty should anything happen.

Personally I try to stay clear from Jersey companies, as basically they can wash their hands if there's any problems. They are not governed by UK consumer law.

Good printer btw...printed my PhD dissertation with it. Nice crisp text and vivid images. Miles better than my Epson R300 for text, lagging behind for photos printed on premium glossy.
#21
Purchased one, hope it is as good as everyone says. :-P
#22
It is amazing, I'm just not looking forward to the day I have to buy new toner carts.

2 questions:
-What are the recycled toners, will this effect the quality of the print?
-If you keep the toners then use them later would they dry out?
#24
The cost in colour laser printers is the toners - often the do £99 printers,
short filled, with a full set of toners costing more than £100

So long as you can get cheap toners (as is the case here) then its a good deal.
So, voted hot :)

For most printing a lser printer is faster and better than an inkjet.
Inkjets win out on glossy photos, but apart from that lasers win out (and is much cheaper per page)
#25
A full set of original toner carts for this printer costs about £160 at RRP, I'm not sure if it's possible to get original ones for less than that price.

I ordered with the extra set of 4, and used the code on this site and got another 25% off! £127 delivered with extra set

that sounds immense: you know if the extra set of 4 will last tho. Cos dont the toners dry out over time or is this just inks from inkjet printers?

2 questions:

Depends on the recycled toner - basically it is refilled with new toner.

No. toner is dry powder. I have some in the loft I got 2 or so years ago, and I would expect them to still be fine.

If anyone is wondering what the promotional code is for the toner it is either:
EWT99
or 235EC

I win, I have some 3 year old toner:p

I was told by someone that if you store Laser toner for a while it’s a good idea to shake them up every 6 months I don’t know if this is true. Also to do the same when you come to the end of use as you can get some extra prints out of them.

It has arrived, seems good and fast enough for me:thumbsup: Thanks OP:-D
