    Yes it's an i5, but it's a 1st gen and is equivalent of a 2nd gen i3.

Given new 2nd gen i3's are around this price, cold from me.

Best of luck with this. I purchased the Inspiron N5050 (2nd gen i5, 500Gb/4Gb) and hate it. Once I'm able to sell the thing I'll go back to HP. The screen resolution doesn't work for me (though it is the same as many 15.6" screens). The keyboard is tacky and doesn't have the number pad that nearly every other 15.6" I've seen has. My fault for not reading the specs but I expected at least an e-sata port on an i5. If you are able to call to PC World or another PC store to have a look at one, you'll have a better idea of how cheap and tacky Dell have become. I'm sure there are those who will disagree but that's what I think after buying one.

looks fine but I recently had a refurb blu-ray player from this seller and refurb is not a word i'd use to describe it. to be fair they took it back and refunded me without hassle but i'd not be tempted to use them again.

100% agree with the comment from 'Subotai4'
I had a first dell laptop inspiron 6400 which was euroupe made, very good built, then dell vestro which is also strong built, still going well
But my last dell inspiron 1564 very poor china built, cheap plastic, don't detect web camera, loose screen cable, resulting white screen, must have to run usb fan otherwise gives blue screen etc
