Sorry came up as dell outlet deal but it's actually from dell brand new so you also get quidco (should track at 5%)

5% off code ZC531$L2C$LJCF only if over £749, but for 3% off go to http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/479747/dell-student-business-epp-discount-.

Using the epp link comes down to £437 and after quidco cashback (which should be about £17) comes down to £420.

Obviously pay more if you need extra but this seems best value with hdmi, integrated camera and i3 core. Also this laptop has a 17.3" wled high definition screen (1600x900 resolution)

No point buying a powerful system which does not have a graphics card.

That is why this is relatively inexpensive

Isn't this a graphics card: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD ?
#4
Yes,

What I meant (sorry) is dedicated graphics card. Accelerators just are not as good

Ok, thanks I see your point, but if you are not a gamer or architect don't you think this is still good value?

I had a web chat with a guy at Dell last week. I asked him what are the comparable speeds of the 'i' processors. He said the i3 is the equivalent to a dual core and that an i5 is the equivalent to a core 2 duo. Might be useful info to someone?
#7
Looking at the comparison performance reviews, the i3 performs better than the core 2 duo.

In the market they have positioned the i3 to be the replacement lower end processor, but performance wise they are obviously newer and significantly quicker than the C2D
#8
Some Core i3 CPUs have a graphics processor built in to them.

Has anyone had the quidco tracked with the EPP discount on as well?

Way off the mark.

An i3 M330 is the equivalent of a C2D T9600 and a i5 M430 will outperform a C2D T9900.

Guys just to let you know....

Dell pays cashback based on the order value excluding VAT and delivery charges. Dell pays cashback only on transactions purchased through Dell UK. Purchases through Dell Outlet, or the Dell Employee Purchase Plan are NOT eligible for cashback.

is this the best option for a Dell laptop at around the £400 mark?

You guys seem to know your stuff.
