Dont worry about hat edi, I have one of these and its fast enough for gaming, it depends where they measure the response from, ie black to white or black to white and back to black, which is what I guess is happening here so halve that is 8ms.

Thanks for clarifying Mike :)

On the same page at the BT shop there is a Apple 20" Widescreen TFT for £299 inc VAT and postage on clearance.

Direct link to it:

These normally sell for £549.99 at the UK Apple Store.

Any idea what sort of warranty the apple monitor comes with?
I can't find any mention of it.

Good point. Could some of these items be refurbs?

If the Apple display has a 1 year (or less) warranty, then there's no way I'd pay £300 for it when the Dell 2007 with 3 year warranty is £330 (after Quidco). Far, far better to spend £30 more for an extra 2 years warranty.

The 2007 is the updated version of the 2005, and the 2005 is essentially the same monitor as the Apple, if you ignore the styling, and a few other minor differences.

Comparison here:

HOWEVER, if the Apple display has a 3 year warranty then it's a good buy.

The Dell 2007WFP is £325.18 at the minute, so with quidco it should be even less.

Oh yes, I was looking at the non-widescreen model for £251 ;)

The Apple is out of stock on the BT site now. The standard warranty on these monitors if bought from Apple is 1 year. If it's bought with a Mac and the extended warranty then it's 3 years. So I doubt the BT monitors have warranties longer than a year.

Sure, in comparison to the normal price on the Apple store, it's a signifcant saving, but that doesn't mean it's a great price, as it is normally overpriced anyway! You're paying extra for the styling (which is lovely, but not worth paying too much extra for), the brand and the reduced warranty.

So for roughly the same price you could get the Dell with a 3 year warranty, a much better option IMO.

It's a while since I looked into it but by memory the Dell monitor has VGA, component, s-video and composite connections which the Apple does not - at least that was the case with the 2005fpw.
