Good Deal - Thanks for posting.
#6
good deal but if buying Dell monitors from pcbuyit you will get 0 dead pixel warranty for 3 years, shame they dont have this same offer on their website.
#7
Looks like a great deal to me - have some heat :)
#8
Nice, I am on the look-out for a 21.5/22" myself but this seems good.
#10
Are there any reviews of this monitor anywhere?

I've looked but not for ages.
#11
looks good to me.
not that I need one :)
#12
Theres better screens out there for the money dell is only good for their IPS panels
#13
Anyone have any opinions as to what this is like when connected to a PS3 as opposed to a £300ish 32inch telly?

I have a 30inch dell monitor although it is one of the older ones without HDMI, so I cant use my PS3 on it :( , wondering weather to buy one of these or pay the extra for a larger telly and sacrifice pixels.

Is it worth paying extra for an IPS panel monitor? I'm getting used to the colours on my Mac screen and love it. Or is this monitor good enough? Have to admit at this price and size, it very tempting...
#16
I'd like to add that this is a good price

i paid about £135 for a 21.5" Dell monitor about a month ago

I have it connected to my PS3 & it is amazing, much better than having it wired to a tv
#17
the spec looks nothing special compared to samsung/asus/benq/viewsonic/iiyama etc with similar price tag. I doubt if there is much difference in actual use

not a bad deal if you like dell customer service and the badge

It is - if you have the budget! I asked myself the same question before upgrading to SSD drive and mechanical keyboard and indeed they are not the best value to money, I just cannot live without them now.

Definitely. The viewing angle is far better than TN panels and brighter.

Got mine from pcbuyit and they have a zero dead pixel policy.

Heh. I always chuckle when that old argument inevitably gets rolled out. It hasn't been true since the days when IPS and VA panels struggled to reach 25ms response times, but somehow the myth stumbles on like a particularly bloody-minded zombie.

Agreed. Another PC related issue that some people really need to let go of (even more so than the TN for gaming thing) is IBM "Deathstars". I owned one, it fudged and I got over it within a few days :)

If you're always going to sit directly in front of the monitor then thats fine, but if you're making music (which requires moving around) or doing any kind of graphic work it makes no sense to use a TN panel.

You will see a dark grey whereas the real colour is actually a light grey. When you send stuff to the printer it just comes out all wrong. I think my monitor is a S-PVA and its still a lot better than the TN ones we sometimes have at work.

Sure you're better of with VGA or HDMI for your Xbox and this monitor has both.

Yeah, my faulty DGM monitor needs replaced and a 1200 would be great but there are hardly any and they are double the price of 1080p monitors.
#32
Anyone have an opinion how this compares to the sammy BX2450 I was about to pick up?

Thanks
#33
samsung are rel the new 2443DW soon that are 1200 res monitors its the new one to the 2443bw but wiht an extra 20000:1 contrast to 70000:1 contrast and a displayport on it apart form that they look the smae as the older models which you can not get anymore.

i am after 2 of these but none in stock and novatec are the only ones that seem to be seeling these
#34
I can't really see what the excitement is all about....

An overpriced Dell bog standard TN panelled monitor now reduced to a normal pricing level???????

This is the same spec as my otherwise non LED model bought a while ago, and it's no great shakes I can tell you.

The next monitor I buy will have an IPS screen.
