Dell 24" Monitor - Ultrasharp 2407WFP - just £529.10

Dell have reduced the price for their excellent 24" widescreen monitor (2407WFP) to just £529.10. If you've been considering adding a new monitor to your PC setup (or for your XBOX360) this would be a great choice.

A quick summary of the price on this beast since June:
26-June-2006: £824.85 | 03-Aug-2006: £619.00 | 11-Sept-2006: £754.35 | 29-Sept-2006: £566.64 | 22-Nov-2006: £754.35 | 04-Dec-2006: £566.64 | 18-Dec-2006: £529.10

This is the lowest I've seen it drop to, and figured it was worth posting! (Don't forget Quidco cashback of 5.5%)

Thanks for the post kowalski and the rundown of prices since June :santa:

These are very good monitors for pc and xbox360! I have one buy paid £650 half a year ago for an older similar model. but if you do get it for the 360 make sure u have an external sound setup. Or you can do it cheaper by hooking it up to the pc card sound speaker.

Hi ya ribsy :) Nice monitor ya got there!

Welcome to HotUKDeals!

Wow £499 with Quidco saving

Nice to see the price (slowly) coming down. Still far too pricey for me, might consider one when they reach the £250-£300 mark. I can wait a few years :-D
#6
these are very good - we have a few at work - not sure if it has an HDMI connection but it does output at 1900 x 1200 so is a proper 1080p HD display
suspended#7
getting towards a good price. needs to be about £400 really!
#8
Just to note, this lower price looks to only be valid until Wednesday 27th December 2006.

It currently has 25% off Dell's normal price (£754.35 reduced to £529.10), so I guess after that it'll be back up to £754.35 (?)

The price for the Dell 24" monitor goes back to £754.35 on Dec 28th.
I can't see this going for much less than £500 in any January sale. It's an excellent monitor - I have the 2405 model and will be picking up the 2407 this week for a nice dual-monitor set-up :) I'm sure anyone who has this monitor will be able to vouch for it's quality and spec.

big BIG difference from 22" to 24" lol. Also check the specs comparison between them.....

I bought this at the start of the year and have never regretted it. Its a [email protected] monitor and games have never been so good. You will need a decent graphics card tho :giggle: 2 full size web pages side by side, or a4 documents.....

I got one off these from usa for £400 inc delivery and arrived within 2 days
#16
The 22" TFT's people have mentioned will most likely have a smaller resolution so be careful and compare well.

The Dell being mentioned in this deal has an excellent resolution and allows for a lot of screen space when working.

Any more info on the £400 deal pothead13?

I guess you got lucky with import duties?? The things to worry about with a US import is the voltage (does it have a switch, havent seen one on mine)... and of course the warranty.

I'm happy having only paid about 100 more than you and having a 3 year next business day swap out warranty if anything goes wrong at all :-D

I'm kicking myself for not getting this with the extra 5% off. grrr.

Wonder if Dell will give any more discount in their sale? (seems unlikely I guess). The 25% off the 24" monitor deal expires on Wed 27th Dec

Isn't it better value to grab a samsung 32" for £566 and hook up your PC to it? :)

Or a sammy 26" for about £460?

You won't get the 1920x1200 resolution on those Samsung TVs.

This monitor has gone up from £716.81 yesterday, to £754.35 today -- the highest it's been for 6 months :(:(:(

I'll bump this thread up next time it drops down to near £500

Well done to anyone that picked this up for £475 just before Christmas.
It's nearly £300 more expensive today! mental.... I'm still gutted I didn't get one then.

I'll be watching...

Its available for £574.50inc from Overclockers if anyone still wants it.
#25
There are quite a few brand new with 3 or 5 year warranty on Ebay for approximately £500 buy it now.
#26
Scan have got it here for 534.63 in item 12 of their TodayOnly feature.

It's only available at this price today though.
#27
It's £548.42 with delivery from Scan (still a v good price - tempted but need to wait!0
#28
Overclockers price now down to £551inc and that includes an upgraded 4 year onsite warranty.

Getting tempting....
#29
Overclockers have reduced the price again to £528.74 That includes VAT and the afforementioned upgraded warranty. They list the A03 revision but there is now an A04 revision with the fixed 1:1 pixel mapping issue fixed. I called overclockers and they said that it is likely that they have some of the A04 revision but cannot guarantee which version you'll get.

Is the issue that has been fixed a real issue for those just using it for normal desktop (non-gaming) use ?

At the rate and price these are being koncked out on Ebay - 50 available at around £465 delivered + 3 year warranty, from one seller alone - it seems clear that there has been an update and that what is being sold is "old stock". Not necessarily any the worse for that.
#31
I wish Dell would reduce the price again... I've been checking every day this year... it's still at £754.35.

That £475 over Xmas was a Hot Deal I let get away. :(
#32
Most people wont be worried about the 1:1 pixel mapping. This was a problem for gamers, because some games wont do widescreen (1920x1200) so they were using the regular res of 1600x1200, but this monitor was stretching the image to fill. they wanted it to stay a square image with black side bars. I'm personally not bothered (even in games).....

kowalski... it might be a while before prices hit that low again, since there is a new revision with new production costs :( Keep watching though. If they sell a load of stock they might get a new batch and thats when the price revises (based on that batches production cost etc).

Why not go for the one's Dell is plainly knocking out through those selling on Ebay. The numbers available can only mean that the sellers have bulk-bought from Dell at a price that enables them to sell at £465: i.e. that Dell is selling these heavily discounted, but discretely through middleman.

The price has dropped today

Was £754.35 yesterday
Today selling at £566.64

with the abundance of 22" monitors now, Im not sure what I wulda gone for! lol. it definitely wouldnt have been a 27" tho. geez you can get their 30" off other sites for less than that!!

I dont regret getting this 24" ever tho. films, games, even web surfing is all a delight.

for half the money or even less, a 22" has to be worth considering I guess. Depends on the funds available.

Anyone have a code for any further percentages off at the moment?
