This is worse than my PC but I still want one. Does that make me weird?

Gotta be worried when they don't list what GPU they are using other than mentioning it's made by NVIDIA! Other specs look solid though for the price.

It's the GPU that's stopping me from going for it.

Custom GTX 860M apparently.

It is a shame it is not upgradable, but it is tiny.

Custom GTX 860M

That's not too bad then! I've had a laptop in the past with the GTX 860m card and it plays most games on High settings. It's very slightly better than a GTX 770m card.

The case or chassis whatever you want to call it, for me, certainly looks nicer than both the PS4 and Xbox One.

A lot more energy efficient also, shame the HD is only 5400rpm, but would be ripe for a future hybrid or SSD upgrade.

Nice that they've also included a controller and HDMI cable too. Not that either cost much, but they easily could have just not bothered. I'll probably pick one up when they're out for the times when I simply can't be bothered to sit at my desk to game.

Indeed, It's £30 you don't have to spend and also if you have a Xbox 360 you can use another as a second controller on this. (it only supports two though, but not aware of any games that are more than split screen anyway)

hi I'm not really that clued up on PC gaming but I've really wanted to get one so I could try out the oculas rift do you think this would be suitable to run it?

If only the gpu was better or upgradeable, I'd be ordering now.

Looks like the rift needs serious high spec system

Recommended specifications: A desktop computer running a dedicated graphics card with DVI-D or HDMI graphics output, with capability of running current generation 3D games at 1080p resolution at 75fps or higher.

To hit that on nearly every game it would have to be a fairly beefy machine.

Would the rift run good on a gtx 780?

Should do.

Will this play sims 4, minecraft and FM 2015? :p
#18
gtx m?! that is weak I want the normal gtx not the mobile series
#19
Does it have to look as ugly as sin, and why are the usb3 ports round the back (as usual)
2 x 4GB of ram fitted, so to get to 16, you have to buy from them or throw away 8!

Great as a little steam box.
#21
wait for the steam box
#22
Wouldn't this be great as a standard desktop pc with a little gaming on the side? Your average pc is 300-400...
#23
wait till steam release their operating system then you will see what these boxes a capable of doing. I was going to order one but it only running on w8 and can install steam OS when released.
For me i think they are a bit underpowered but fully upgradeable so will wait to see whats what when it is fully running.

Have to admit though the Shuttle does pump out a lot of fan noise when it gets warm.... tell me this is nice and quiet and I might think it's a bit better! ;-)

yea easily run those.
I am very tempted as am a sucker for Alienware stuff. Already got AW14 6 months ago and the new Area 51 few weeks ago. And just order the new AW13 with Graphics Amplifier.

Not a great deal of video memory. This thing will be obsolete by next year. Don't waste your money.

Presumably your desktop does not fit under your TV, have WIFI built in, portable and is not a 4th Gen i5.
Does not have built in wireless Xbox controller support, a bundled Xbox Controller.
Also does not have a custom GUI so you can just pick up a gamepad sit on the sofa and play.

The bargain is the discount if you want one.

In this system it's faster than the desktop GTX 750 Ti.

Cool story bro. Nobody gives a flying turd about your PC if I'm going to be brutally honest.

Agreed. Can't see the point of a pc for games, at least with an xbox you don't have to think how fast your hardware is, if you're playing online, just your connection speed. You also have to deal with awful steam for lots of games.
Only for games like quake is there an advantage, if anyone still plays that online.
#38
Anyone know if the HDD is easily replaceable. I'd like to get this and just replace it with a 512GB SSD that I got cheap from Amazon's Black Friday stuff.

yes it is, unless you are going to clone you might need to research if you can re-install the alienware UI though
