gutted, ordered an HP one from Amazon last night :( Mind you it was only £40 and is a wireless one.

Some of these cheap eBay cartridges are very poor quality.

Been caught out a few times.
#11
Having said that I still think the manufacturers ones are way overpriced
#12
Is the drum part of the toner cartridge or a separate unit that pulls out? A lot of these cheap lasers have drums that can't be changed. If it was duplex and had ethernet I'd be all over this.

Someone find me a colour all in one laser with toner that isn't 40 quid a cartridge

Dell C1765NF, or C1765NFW if wireless reqd. Gen Dell standard capacity carts are about £35 each. Compat high capacity toners from £21+ delivered. That's total £21+ for a set of four carts, delivered. Typical black page yeild 2000; colours 1400. Examples:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008HDR1HM/
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00977H4AG/
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321311162158
AIO itself is circa £135; or nearer £155 for the W suffix.

Presumably it is this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-Deskjet-2540-All-In-One-Printer/dp/B00E7Q36RW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403784130&sr=8-1&keywords=HP+wifi+printer but would be keen to find out if they actually meant wifi laser printer for £40

Where can you get these sub £200? I can't find them anywhere near the price you mentioned.
I am interested in getting a low cost laser with compatibles.

I had the model number out one digit and was finding discontinued models at high prices. Looks a great unit. Is there one that does duplex?

Some of the reviewers on amazon are not happy with the printer. Does anyone know of a laser printer around £50 that you can get ok compatible carts for around £15 or less. would like a printer that costs less than 2p per page to print. have been looking at some Samsung laser jets but they work out at 3.6p per print.....

Anything smaller? Canon inkjet #3 died, and while I can get ink got £1/black -only do text really-smaller would be useful. Unless there's a mini inkjet similarly priced?

This is tiny tiny, smaller than my inkjet.

I love it, I'm never having another inkjet.

It's also a rebadged Samsung printer.
