This is a + for me and I think most people but there may be the odd person out there who only has VGA out so it's useful info.

Spec says:
Weight (panel only - for VESA mount)

So I would say yes it can.

Andy: Sorry no I dont know of any deals with this inc.
#14
Hot from me! For the pure deisigner look its perfect - unfortunately the specs are a little low compared to others.
#15
Cold from me. Nice looking casing, but it's double the price of your typical 22" monitor, and I think it's about £50 more expensive than their 24" full HD panel.
#16
Cold from me too, even at £229 it's not worth that much these days
#17
Miket thanks... I am very close to buying it - Can you or anyone confirm that this has a hdmi port and I will be able to connect xbox or ps3 to it?

many thanks all...

Really? :w00t: Can you provide link please?

All I can find is full price at £550.85inc http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=147262

EDIT

Actually I think you mean £150 off 2408WFP was £479 £150 off £329+vat £384.08 del 31.32% discount which I found on this thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/424454/dell-small-business-monitor-fire-sa/

Obviously I read that wrong and got all excited! :-D

It's still £384 inc vat and Del, so the 2408WFP is hardly a good comparison with this. When you put £150, I thought this is what they were selling them for!

Although the S2409W is £191 inc vat & del

Bargain price, but isn't this just a normal 22" monitor (i.e. the usual bezel width) with a big sheet of glass stuck on the front?

Other customers who bought the monitor also bought a wall mount, whether it was intented for this particular monitor I'm not sure.

Thanks for that... a little expensive that wall mount is... but I am really considering it as it will be perfect for my bedroom..

But can anyone confirm that this definately has a HDMI port that will allow me to connect a xbox or ps3 or anything using the HDMI?

Confused because it says DVI/HDMI!
#23
I have to say that is one of the ugliest monitors I have ever seen!.

My best educated guess is that it has a dvi cable hardwired to the screen, and Dell provide you with a DVI to HDMI adaptor to stick on the other end of it.

I like that it has the integrated speakers ..... I could be tempted ....

The cable splits off at the end and it does have a HDMI plug, included is an adaptor to go from HDMI to DVI

Just ordered the ugliest monitor ever seen by spoonyBoy... I will post some pics after I receive it in 10 working days... Thanks OP

Awesome!! I only need HDMI - so that it sends off sound aswell... As far as I know DVI doesnt send sound...

Ordered and looking forward to it...

VGA is useful if you want to connect a laptop as until recently few laptops came with anything but a VGA output.
#29
i think its a good deal, unlike anything else around, very stylish if you like that sort of thing, shame its not an ips panel
#30
Such a beautiful screen, though the spec could be better.

Horrible kit and even more horrible Dell woman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCNj53GCjxk

She now works in her local Walmart in the dried fruit department.

I'm a big Dell fan but they get things sooo wrong sometimes it stuns me.

This has 1 HDMI cable with a DVI adaptor so you can only have 1 connection,Either HDMI or DVI,

Also when you think of the premium added to Apple products just for there looks this looks like a bargain and remeber the reviews were
when this was £700
#33
this thing is fugly, and has a VERY low rating, even on the dell site

I only need it to connect 1 device but main concern was that HDMI to DVI will not give out sound as far as I know but HDMI will give out sound.

Just order 2, Hope i get them.

The spec is not that bad not many 22 inchs which are cheap do a resolution of 1680 x 1050.

Also if you get a web cam thats Min 20 or 30 for anything decent or do 2 megapixels

Connectivity not a major issue as DVI and HDMI the future no need for VGA unless it's a laptop issue which i sure the future will carry DVI.

Also consider it was actually being sold for like 850 pounds, how can you lose at this price, you can't.

I like the look of the monitor, but use a KVM switch between 4 computers (2 laptops) for my work, which only works with VGA. Couldn't I just use the HDMI/DVI adapter with a DVI/VGA adaptor?
Actually, I probably won't buy one anyway, the resolution is no better than the monitor I have already and it's a lot to pay just for a prettier (subjective, I know) face.
#37
Small monitor bad resolution

End of story

Hdmi doesnt carry the analogue signal at all so you cant use an adaptor,
#39
Well for someone still on a 15inch CRT monitor which is a good 6 or 7 years old it's not bad and you could if really wanted and needed vga connectivity buy a HDMI to VGA converter

http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=usb&ModuleNo=97373

But agree does it look good or not is subjective

Gorgeous now where can I get £230
