Dont forget to reduce the warranty to minimum on this deal to get the price above.
Last few times Dell have done these limited number deals our members have been quite quick fingered and got a fair percentage so dont give up too quickly, keep entering the code till it sticks.

Good luck!
#3
Wow Brilliant price! I thought this thread was for just the monitor, now I see it's a whole PC system!!
#4
This deal includes Windows XP Media Edition (As per the default selection in Dell's configuration page)

Dell are advertising it with XP Home on the deals page here incorrectly:

Good price if you can get one.

I've just tried going through quidco, but the Dell Homepage is unavailable

Has anyone else had trouble going through quidco this morning?
#16
The link is working fine for me from quidco to dell

but

how do you get to the system from the dell homepage?
do I need a e value code?
#17
Insanely good deal, great spot MikeT :)

Hi Guys

Wonder if anyone can help a complete computer novice please? If you shuffle the spec about: ie change the processor, go for the vista free upgrade, etc, does that mean you can't use the discount code, or is the code independent of anything you do with this system?

Also, if any gurus have a moment, are there any things that you reckon SHOULD be upgraded within this system?

Thanks very much for any input.
#19
Is there any way round having to select a 2GB memory upgrade to get the free vista upgrade?
#20
The 19" monitor retails at Dell for £160, so essentially you'd be getting this computer for £69 :w00t: (of which £60 is the courier delivery charge!)

Fingers poised for 10 o'clock.....

Heraldic - I've upgraded the processor to an Athlon 64 3800+ - only £23 extra, and a big boost over the Sempron. RAM definitely needs upgrading as well - 256MB is pathetic these days - but its cheaper to buy that separately from Crucial after purchase.
#21
On which page is the Discount Code entered? I have gone all the way through to the "Verify & Submit Order" page. Have I missed it?
#22
bah it seems you need to buy 2 gigs of dells price inflated ram to get vista "free" upgrade
#23
If you are looking to upgrade I would say there are better deals available. It interests me as my parents need a cheap TFT and I could do with a new download box. Not sure I would want to use this spec for everyday use, the 256mb RAM is a real bottleneck.

yes the system needs more memory. 256 will kill you
but don’t buy it from dell, much cheaper to buy it from somewhere else like ebuyer.com or dabs.com or any etailer

on top of that, the processor is ok but i think its like £11 more for a 3200+ amd 64 which is worth it. personally id go for the dual core 3800+ which is about £50 more

and yes the code is independent of any ram/processor change ect
#26
If this was a widescreen monitor i would go for it. But its not.
#27
Wait, how much would it cost to build that eact PC, without the monitor?
#28
i just got through on quidco first time and the offer doesnt apper on the homepage if you do a search for the model c521 you can see what dell recomends , im sure if you were to have a better package but the same system it must still be cool for the voucher, otherwise would they not make it so its not possible to upgrade it . if you choose the option for upgrade to
AMD® Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, with free hd upgrade to 250gb and 1gb ram , along with the mce vista upgrade with the voucher price its £378. then with your quidco on top which pre vat i work out to £18.85 so top spec system with all the bits better graphics as well for £359.00 which is only £130 quid diffrence from the cheeepy model and you get stacks more for your cash, dont you think ???
#29
Media edition or Xp Home for the operating system as they are the same cost?
#30
what is the e-code so i can use quidco?
[mod]#31
305-D01C15A is the ecode.
#32
Thanks Mike
