That is H O T :)

Wow why is this so cheap? What is the difference between this and the one that was £479? This has 2g of ram ?:?
#4
How easy would it be to upgrade the graphics card in this one?
[mod] 1 Like #5
Simple job or buy with dells offering for £50
#6
Thank you for posting this just ordered, rep & heat added.
#7
Fantastic price....wish I had the cash on me!!!!

Superb buy! Now I have an issue. I ordered a Dimension C521 for a relative on Tuesday.... for £379 - which was the best system I could find for the money. Now this blows it out of the water with double the memory and better processor for less money. I have checked the status of the order and it has been shipped. If I cancel with Dell will they charge me delivery? What is the best way to approach this?
[mod]#9
Call them and say u changed your mind, they will tell you to refuse delivery, they will also try to tempt you to accept it ;-)
#10
Hi Mike..

CHeers for the offers you have put on today, I really am not bothered about a monitor.. Can these units be downgraded?
[mod]#11
Not easily, you have to call them to remove the monitor and its normally a better deal to buy with monitor and sell it on ebay to get the cash back.
There are some deals without monitor but normally not so good a deal

Even if they knock 10% off to try to get me to keep it the system you have come up with is miles better. They would have to knock off about £80-£100 to make it worth it to keep it!

Where did you find it? Is it a misprice as I can't see this offer just by going through the normal 'offers' section.
[mod]#13
They are all there if you know where to look ;-) not a misprice, just feels like it ;-)

This looks like a great deal and I'd buy it at the drop of a hat if it included the E4400 processor rather than the E4300.

Its strange, they have obviously started using the new E6320 and E6420 chips but not the E4400? Have the E4400's been delayed, or are they just not deciding to use them right now?
#15
If i wanted to play hd rips from the pc to my HDTV would this machine be good enough to do that? Obviously i would need a new graphics card,Which card would anyone advise to use with this system for what i need?
#16
What is the difference???

A 250GB SATA

and a DUAL 320?? Is that 2 x 160GB Drives??

250GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive with 8MB DataBurst™ cache [Inc

320GB Dual Hard Drive Non RAID (2x160GB - 7200rpm) [add £41.12

#19
Does this machine support RAID and the they just don't enable it for the drive config or its not possible with this board?

Dell dont list the E4400 as being available at all for any systems, they go up as high as the Intel Core2 Extreme processor X6800 (2.93GHz) though ;-)
#21
I'm not a huge fan of Dell, I always build systems for myself, friends and family, but that is an excellent deal :)
#22
Stick this Graphics card in it, and I think you've got yourself an excellent system for the price...

Ok, thanks for that. Maybe they have a stockpile of E4300's that they're trying to rid of first...

looks good - any thoughts on this monitor - is it good? Dell™ 22" Black Wide Flat Panel (E228WFP)

Amazing price for a PC!!!
#26
whats the out-of-the-box overclocking potential for this chip with dell?
#27
Had to fight to cancel the order I made on Tuesday in order to get this offer. Despite me ordering through the Home section, specifying that the unit I ordered was for home use and removing my company name from the shipping address after I logged on Dell insisted it was a business order and therefore could not be cancelled.... so beware of this if you have set your account up with a name in the business name box in the past. Anyway - I asked to speak to a manager and the bloke came back and cancelled.. so I have now reordered and made sure I set up a new (home) account.

Amazing deal compared to the one I was buying before. Added on the card reader as from memory only Dell card readers easily fit into Dells - otherwise you really need an internal USB to connect to. Of course you can have an external one but as I have saved £50 and got a much better PC I thought I could splash out (though on other systems they charge more than the £11.75 for this option)!

All the Dell PC's have their CPU clock speed locked in the BIOS, they can not be overclocked.

That's not true. I'm not sure about this particular model, but you can probably find out the clocking chip-thingy and use a software FSB-adjusting software.

Mike, you've done it again - you're a hero, cheers!

Well we had a famine for the last 3 weeks except for those cheap 1501 notebooks on the SB site so I was relieved to see some deals to find today.
Makes it worth getting up at 5:30am when you crack onto a good deal, glad to be able to assist:thumbsup:

Tool delivery of a C521 the other day for £370, absolutely gutted now.....This is a great deal! :x Voted hot

How the hell are you supposed to get in touch with them? I get a compatibility alert between two items that are specifically stated will work together, and their web chat thing doesn't work on firefox!

Tell us exactly what the problem is and we can maybe fix it for you
#39
The page for the E228WFP monitor states it can be used with the AS501PA soundbar, but trying to add them gives me an alert saying they're incompatible.

how will this PC be for video editing? I have some camcorder footage i want to get onto DVD. What else would I need?
