Probably cheaper to buy one of the machines with a 19" TFT and sell the screen on Ebay.
#2
yeah but if u have a nice screen already and dont want ebay hassle this is a good spot
#3
Maybe, but for this price the spec has been similar lately with the 19" TFT. I think it was the same spec with monitor for £293 delivered recently, so extra £33.
#4
Currently I think the differnence with & without screen is £71, eBay sells the screen for approx £85 - £105 so after fees etc it could be a tie.
#5
Yeah and i got that deal £293.00, phoned up a day later and said i wanted to cancel so they knocked off another 30 quid if i kept it, laughing all the way to the bank:-D :w00t:
#6
Well this looks a really good deal to me if your happy with your present monitor.

Its all very well harping on about previous good deals but the fact remains that this is still a really good deal, and not everybody is into eBay like some on here if you did go for the monitor deal.
#7
Okay, I stand corrected - very good deal. :)

I'm just ordered my deal above with the view to trying this idea, thanks.:) or might ask them for Home Premium instead of business as I have a TV card I'd like to use.

Better yet order the D06E02A instead (the one with the monitor) and over the phone they discounted it by £100 so machine above for £229 delivered (with no monitor and I had Home Premium added free)

Hi,

My mate is interested in this pc after seeing my E520 but wants to upgrade the graphics card to this : http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=119441

Would this card fit ok as he has his heart set on it. Thanks guys.

Toob - would you mind posting the details of the Dell salesman (name and number) that you got the system for £293 please

Which is a pretty incredible deal considering everything. But I don't NEEED one - how can I justify to the missus that I should get one???

Tried this approach myself and the saleman I got would not go below £272 for the D06E02A less the monitor, which is ridiculous when you consider that the D06E02 is £258. We didn't get around to discussing my having Home Premium for free.

Hi All, the Sales Person who managed this was Lalit Pant on 0870 9075128 ext 73994.

He said I can have £100 of any system without screen.

Home Premium technicaly is listed as a cheaper option then Vista Business on Dells site but they would not reduce it any further but were happy to swap.
#15
Did anyone else manage to order this?

Mine seems stuck in pre-production and has been since monday, I've had Dell Machines and they have been built same day before.
#16
Does this deal or any of these deals have the option to upgrade the monitor to 22 tft (It was in the last one which I missed)?

:?

Not unless he fits a new PSU as well as the card needs a P10 connector which the base DELL PSU's do not have despite what the documnetation for the PC states.

Dell are all out of 22" TFT's, seems they had a rush on sales and dont have any now for 3+ weeks so if you want a deal from them with one I suggest you hold on till first week in July for some offers.

Has anyone got the £229 over the web sales chat? I need to replace a family members Mac Mini (Who runs Windows XP 99% of the time!) with one of these as I am impressed with mine.

Will it be easier if I tell them I am a returning customer or not? :)

Have you tried calling the number I listed yet, I don't think the webchat has been very usefull in the past they tend to just redirect you to their call centre.

Mike T - how do you know so much about Dell when you don't work for them?
