In general performance terms it comes just above Intels E6300 1.86Ghz cpu so not a bad performance level.

i missed out on the 22" intel duo this morning, not sure if this is a reasonable alternative - better graphics, hd + ram, poor panel but that is probably a better balance of system for my requirements anyway... do you think Dell are likely to come up with any thing unmissable soon or all things being equal should i just pump for this, wadya reckon mike (the dell professor) ;-)

Only if yours is currently not good enough for what you use it for - I would say that if you are on a budget, getting an extra 512mb ram would be cheap and would give you a gain in speed.

If you do decide to go for this deal - change the 4x512mb that comes with it for 2x1048mb - it is free, and will leave you 2 free slots for future use.

il bump this 1 up lol

Depends what games you play and depends on the graphics card you currently have.

You'd probably be better off getting another 512mb of RAM and getting a new graphics card.
