Most times with dell its better/more cost effective to buy a system with monitor and then sell on the monitor, especially when they offer 19" TFT's with the deals as they seem to sell quite easily Bacardi.

Yeah just found that out £546.44 without montitor and £578.99 with and with just the base you can not have Windows XP Media Center Edition (not used this but i thought it would be good for connecting tio the xbox 360)

Many thanks i think i will get the package.
[mod]#8
Media center also has the advantage of giving you an upgrade path to Vista Premium, whereas XP home will only upgrade to Vista basic, so worth considering this when buying Dell atm.

Anyone got a 5% code?
#10
This looks a ggod deal, especially with the option of cheap additional RAM. I cant decide if its worth waiting til next year when Vista comes preloaded with the Dell systems, any opinions?
#11
I second that question from skdotcom.

Also, how much is the performance gap between Core2Duo & Athlon X2 dual core?

Has anyone got any codes that they could PM for a saving?
#15

#16

Just a quick question for anyone in the know!

I have tried accessing this deal from Quidco, but can't select the exact computer package. Through the Quidco link to Dell, I can only see the D01E16 where as the link on this thread is for the D01E16R.

Does anyone know why?

Ta.
#18
Just so y'all know, this is still rolling along. 2 gig RAM upgrade seems a complete bargain.
#19
yeah I found that too on the e520 deal.. ended up pasting the url after going through quidco and hoping that it tracks.

If you login to your QuidCo account and click through to Dell [using the green link means you're logged in]. Then use Dell's eValue Code: 305 [first box] D01E16R [second box] to search for the system, it should show up. You can then reduce the collect and return to 1yr for the lowest price. Keep clicking through and checking whether you want to add any of the upgrades as you go. At checkout you'll be able to see all the details from one of the links and can go back to change it if you need too.

Cheers mate - just gonna bump up the memory to 2gb and with Quidco should work out just over £600. Will order later I think, as I can't see anything else coming up in this price range that I can get.
[mod]#22
I have been through all the dell prices today and there is no change from the deals I already posted this week.
#23
thanks Mike, you are Mr Dell. Was worried about ordering yesterday, just in case of another big drop today
