Another top deal MikeT! Hoted hot again, although 2gig of RAM would be better! But this does have better on board graphics and has a memory card reader!
#3
Oh and a better copy of Vista included, didn't see that before.

Don't know if it has been posted elsewhere, but this one has similar-ish spec but on a 4300 (Vista Business would take price higher). However, it does have the bonus of a 22" monitor option for extra £88

Voted cold, Core 2 Duo smokes this one.

I posted this one especially for the AMD fans who may be feeling a little put out at the moment with the "other deal" ;-)

I see.. though who would still be an AMD fan now, seeing as Intel is wiping the floor with them? :giggle:

Well I agree in comparison to the X6800 Extreme but the Core2Duos below in the Intel version of this deal are pretty similar to the AMD x2 processors performance wise.

You can see here that in 3DMark06 the AMD x2 4600+ actually just beats a E6300 Intel.

Hmmmm, you might want to look round at some comparison charts before making statements like this, core 2 duo still better at high end........but at low end .......not a lot in it really.

How much better is the processor compared to my Intel Pentium 4 1.8

Depending on what your using it for, it could be lots better. take a look at the sidebar links on my blog for a cpu comparison chart. You will need to pick a different cpu than yours to compare against though as yours is now so old that its no longer in the chart having dropped off the bottom!
Having said that if you just surf the net and write letters, yours doesnt need an upgrade.

Just wanted to say a belated thanks to MikeT, its cos of you I've got my E520 with a 22" monitor, think it was £450, that reminds me, really need to chase up Quidco as it didnt track, hope its not too late!

Edit - Just submitted a ticket, but it does not show when I click on the "tickets" tab, is that normal?
