Not this time as credit goes to emasu. Nice deal.

Thanks, does this one have component input or is that only available on the 24"? I'm looking for a monitor that I can plug my wii in.
#7
It's not bad, but a basic monitor. Picture quality is fine and colour good.
But you cannot height adjust the monitor or rotate it and there is no USB or speakers on the monitor. There are better alternatives.

Hi - is this better than the AGNeovo deal at Scan recently (see here http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/130395/22-neovo-h-w22-v2-hdcp-widescreen-l/all/all/hot/)

I ordered the Ag Neovo last night for £139 and I think I can still cancel (payment not taken yet). I already have a Dell workstation and astetically this will look nicer and have always been impressed with Dell monitors. Is this as good (I notice refresh rate is slightly lower but no biggy)
In reply to the Wii question above you can buy component to dvi connectors (e.g. http://*********.co.uk/GOLD-DVI-I-M-To-3-RCA-F-Adapter-XBOX-360-HD-HDTV-Wii-UK_W0QQitemZ130186730387QQihZ003QQcategoryZ112846QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Someone else can confirm if this is correct.

Can you not just send something back with the excuse that it took too long to arrive or you no longer want it?

Samsung SM226BW

It is and the SM226CW is even better still due to its much better colour reproduction. Although it is a lot more expensive than the SW226BW.

Great standard monitor, its been around for a while and there are plenty of good reviews out there. Also 3 years warranty and the price is the best I have seen for a 22" in that league. It doesn't have any bells and whistles but if you don't need shiny piano-gloss finish, usb-hub, speakers or build-in webcam, this Dell is best bang for buck really.

Btw. you don't really need to have a business, Dell doesn't care. But the terms and conditions for business users are different. Basically, when buying from the small business store you don't have a 30 days return period but only 7 days and other restrictions. If thats important to you, make sure to read the small print..

You don't need any excuse. You are covered by distance selling regulations. Just refuse delivery. If possible ring and cancel to try to stop it being attempted to be delivered....otherwise they may leave it with a neighbour if you are not in then you may be faced with the cost of returning it.

I called home and the delivery had already come - or that's exactly what I would have done.

Now its been accepted, I really can't be bothered with the hassle of arranging a collection for it, coupled with the fact my holiday finishes from work this week delivery of another from Dell would be awkward. All in all, probably not worth it for the sake of £50.

I have just taken the screen out of the box - it is huge, going from a non-widescreen 19" LCD to this is going to be strange. Time to setup I guess and see if its worth it.

the response time and contrast seem better with the Neovo and it has built in speakers. Is Neovo a reputable brand?
#32
I have one of these, they are excellent monitors. Good warranty and didnt have and dead pixels.

I have just hooked this beast up to my machine. It's no higher or lower on the stand (sits exactly in the same place as my old LCD - which was also a Dell) so that doesn't bother me - but as you would expect it is wide/long. I actually have to move my eyes now to look at the sides of the screen!

Browsing the Internet seems a bit weird, as a good percentage of websites have been designed to run in resolutions with a width 1024 or less (sure some exceptions to this, plus the sites that stretch in width...).

Games... I only have Company of Heros installed at the moment, that is immense on this, the colours are amazing, its very fluid.

Movies... I just popped in Jarhead & It's All Gone Pete Tong - stunning - it is like having a cinema screen on my desk. I tried a Divx episode of Top Gear - pixelation shows up a fair bit in full screen, but then it would as it is compressed... duh.

General Observations... it does show up 'artifacts' in photos. Worse on pictures taken with my Canon IXUS 75, but a lot less noticeable on the RAW/Tiffs produced by my Canon SLR. I kind of expected this would be the case with photos however, but it is no biggie.

I don't mind too much now I have used it that it cost me £216.. so those of you who get this for £164 are getting a bargain. Go for it, I doubt you will be disappointed.

My $0.02

Had one of these since Easter (when it was a Dell 1-day special at £194 inc delivery - it's been around £100 more ever since then). Great screen, and a super price!

I usually have 2 brower windows side by side on mine - most sites fit pretty well (some are too wide though), so if you're a mad power browser like me it's great ;-)

it was £233 for a while a couple of months back

Dell’s TN panel based monitors such as these are often horribly over-priced which makes this deal seem much better than it really is. I’m not suggesting that it’s a poor monitor but it’s just another 22” TN panel with basic stand adjustments and basic connectivity. Seems like a good price but is it really that hot!
