Thought this was a good deal for a HD notebook. HTH.

The ultra low voltage (ULV) Dell Inspiron 11 is a brand new type of laptop, powered by energy efficient Intel Celeron processor. So slim and light you can carry it anywhere, the Inspiron 11 weighs just 1.3kg and runs for up to 6 hours without being recharged. Dell''s very first ULV laptop is much more powerful than a netbook, yet lighter and more affordable than a standard laptop. The Inspiron 11z is packed with impressive features, including a whopping 250GB hard disk drive for storing around 200 HD movies or 64,000 songs.

The Inspiron 11Z crisp, 11.6" HD screen displays images in stunning, razor-sharp detail and makes watching movies a real treat. When you want to share movies or video stored on your laptop with friends you can hook it up to your TV using the HDMI port. Speedy Wi-Fi internet, three USB ports, Ethernet and a memory card reader all come in handy, and the integrated webcam makes messaging more fun. The Inspiron 11 comes with Vista Home Edition, which helps you make the most of your laptop by keeping it protected and running smoothly.

Not a great deal really...
It's Vista for starters so add £40 for a windows 7 upgrade disk which takes it to £319 and for an extra £30 ontop of that, you may as well get the Asus in carphone.

Celeron dual core
3GB RAM
320GB HDD
Windows 7
+2 inches on the screen
up to 9 hours battery life (i think)

Ewwww Celeron....

People cannot moan about there not being an optical drive or celeron because
a it's an ultra low voltage processor and it's cheap so of course it's going to be celeron and it's not going to have an optical drive as it is only 11.6 and it's a super slim chassis. Before people post silly comments like that please give an example of a machine that is better than what has been posted...

By your logic there would be no small laptops around because you can pay a bit more and get a larger screen.

Also, most people will not buy this then pay £40 to upgrade it to Windows 7. If looking for Win 7 with a larger screen then of course this is not the deal for you.

Its a 'netbook' with a bit more oomph. For that, its not a bad deal at all...

Agreed, loads of people pay £250-300 for a samsung/hp atom netbook. This is a much better option. Personally I would stump up for the asus UL30a from carphone but still this is a decent deal.
