Why gaming laptop? If you are not really playing "on the go", can consider normal i7 laptops plus external video card.

Pls change this to ask as it is not a deal

I have been looking at a budget laptop for a while. This one seems to get great ratings for the money. However I have seen this cheaper in recent weeks on Currys. It also looks like it's £799.99 on the Dell website at the moment with £50 off on top of that with the code on the site.

Let me know if you decide to get it!

With the 10% cashback, this could be a reasonable deal, but to put it in perspective, I have the same laptop (Inspiron 15-7559) with the 6700HQ, 16GB DDR3, 4GB 960M, and a 4K touchscreen. Also 128Gb M.2 SSD fitted (which I replaced with a 256), backlit keyboard, and three years Next Business Day support. And that was £619. OK. we don't have time-machines to go back and get deals from the past, but deals usually have a way of coming around again.

If you need it NOW, then this is a reasonable enough laptop for the money, but if you can wait, you will probably find more 'bang for your buck'.

NB: mine was factory refurbished from a major Dell re-seller, but like most of Dell's 'refurbs', it was brand new.

Fifa isn't demanding, but farcry, fallout and possibly gta may struggle at high.

I'm not a gamer, so I can't give you a definite answer. I use mine for Lightroom / Photoshop when on the road. The games manufacturer should usually list various graphics adaptors, and the settings they can use. This has an Nvidia GT960M (4GB), so that should help you look it up.

Your going to spend another £60 on an M.2 ssd because at minimum you will need 256gb capacity since 128gb is only going to be able to save a limited amount of games and that's if you don't install windows on there. This means it's closer to the original price even with the discount. Doesn't seem that great a deal

You can't install Windows on the m.2 because it's already on the HDD it can be transferred unless you buy a new copy of Windows 10 can you?

When I reserved this laptop last night the price was £799.99 so it's changed overnight

Of course you can. The license is for the laptop, it'll still be valid if you change out the hard drive/SSD.

Don't get it kophbk. This is a waste of your hard earned money. GTX 960m is absolutely useless for 1080p gaming and gives your virtually no future-proofing. Dell started upgrading their laptops before Christmas season so I expect new gtx 1060 making its way to Dell 7559 in coming weeks. Look at benchmarks between the two, and 1060 is light years faster! Otherwise wait few more weeks and the prices of laptops with gtx 1060 will start to drop.

Thanks for your input but there's always new something coming out either graphics or cpu or this or that, I think I'd better forever waiting for price drops, besides this is my budget and gtx1060 is bound to be £1200+ isn't it?

I've got the same laptop. had it for a fair few months now. I can run gta around 40fps with a mixture of high/ultra without an ssd. The screen is a bit pants and so is the touch pad. I paid £695 about 6 months ago so definitely not worth the price you have seen it for. Should be able to pick it up for under £700

Could someone help, my son wants an Alienware gaming lap top .. The one I've seen is 1,600. Which I think is ridiculous money .. Doesn't anyone know if this lap top by del could be cheaper elsewhere.. Thank you
