Read some reviews before you order, the screen is an issue for some people.

Amazing deal if it wasn't for the screen...

You have no link to the laptop with the specs you have stated.

This was a deal on here 2 weeks ago and posters pointed out that it was not a 1050 ti card - can you confirm that this is the 1050 ti definitely?

Fairly easily googled; got to:here might help you if interested.
Not a gamer, but already reduced from £1,118.99, then the OP's code resulting in £899.10 is certainly a deal IMO.
Why is UHD so necessary anyway?.
One the most common moans on hukd is "1366 X 768";
here it's FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display and people are moaning about the display!!!!
Heat from me.

If you base the quality of a screen solely on the resolution then you do not know very much about displays. The display is awful, I have seen one personally too but all the reviews will back it up.

ive got last year's model and the screen wasn't too nice on that. But i found a screen profile online on the notebook forum and it looks a lot better!

maybe a similar fix for this model?

also, amend the title, student can get it for £829! when they talk to a sales rep

How do you get the extra student discount?
#9
It is not the resolution of the screen that is the issue. It is apparently just a poor screen.

Another for atrocious screen here. The worst viewing angles I've ever seen. Even dead on its hard to get a uniform image with no colour shift.

There's no way to fix a **** poor TN panel.
Dell dropped the ball on this one for the sake of saving a few £ on a half decent IPS panel.

Why are laptops so expensive at the moment with crappy screens?

Honestly, if you're not doing colour oriented work like Photoshop etc then the screen will get you by in gaming and most other applications imo. However I've saying this from the 7559 so i don't know how bad this model is but i would assume Dell use the screens from last year

No-one would accept a old TN screen, even a 1080p one, on their phone these days; it would have to be IPS or better. So why would Dell think people looking for a quite pricy gaming laptop would accept this backward step?

It would be interesting to see the sales figures for these Inspiron 7000 laptops. My guess is the general public are voting with their wallets and avoiding them like the plague!

I guess they hope people buy purely based on the spec of the machine and resolution rather than the actual quality of the screen. So many laptops (not just Dell) have awful washed out screens these days, my HP Probook 650 is terrible and that's not a budget model.

Heat added. Great price for a laptop of this spec.

If you have an external monitor then yeah I guess, in this day and age and this price you'd expect at least a half a decent screen, not a crappy TN
