No 10 series card?
Come on Dell.

I was actually thinking about buying this laptop.
I'd like to know why is it being voted cold and what better alternatives are out there around the same price?

It's not supposed to be a high-end gaming laptop. This is a very good value for money laptop actually and being voted cold for no reason.
I almost got one back in November and they have an aluminium frame for those who love premium materials.

You're right, there's no applicable Pascal card for this level.
Saying that I've looked at Dell's site and even their gaming notebooks don't have 10 series cards yet.

Brilliant laptop, got the i7 variant with 16gb. Wouldn't class it as a gaming model but certainly decent price for a decent spec. Will last a good while before needing replacement unlike the recent rash of cheap and nasty HPs that have been posted on here.

Yeah, only their Alienware laptops currently have 10 series, (1060, 1070 and 1080), looking on the American site it looks like the new ones due out will have 1050 graphics cards. Shame in my mind, would have thought they would have at least gone for a 1060....

I have a Dell XPS 15 (9550) i7 4K screen, it's onto its 3rd motherboard in 2 months, it's supposed to be a premium product........if it's premium, how is this going to fare?

Sounds like bad luck. We have 4500+ machines, mixture of dell, Hp and toshiba, we get very few issues with dell.

You can go out and buy a premium car for £60,000 and have issues with it.

I am also wondering if people who are voting this cold can actually post links of better? don't understanding voting it cold if there isn't anything better although would like to be proved wrong! Also considering this is an ultra thin bezel meaning although it's 15inch is probs the smallest 15 inch out there which I like as I prefer more compact laptops.

Hot from me..Why it's voted down??..Does anyone know better deal at same price???

My XPS is just out of warranty and motherboard has gone, I'm just gonna get cheap laptops now and replace every year

Just because its out of warrenty means nothing, invoke the sales of goods act, the must still repair it.

I've been using mine for a week and I'm happy with the screen brightness. The only complaint I have is the trackpad, quite annoying. But if you're gonna use an USB mouse you should be fine. It looks and feels premium.

guys, just used the code: GJ7$8DW5?37HL$ on bought the Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Series (7567) - cheapest one but the 2017 edition:

Processor: 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit English
LCD: 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display
Memory: 8GB, 2400MHz, DDR4; up to 32GB (additional memory sold separately)
Hard Drive: 256GB Solid State Drive
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB
etc.

it suits all my needs, and the code of the above will give you "VIP discount" or something.
so instead of 899 => 809.90 and free delivery.
