Sorry but this isnt a good deal. That emachines deal with the i3 processer i far superior.

20 quid without a code for a dual core i3 verses a single core v120....

Likely both made in the same factory in China...as are most big brand laptops..Acer, Sony, Lenovo, Dell etc..

irrelevant but for 279 quid for a 15.6 laptop minimum of a dual core. single core just wont cut it.

I think comparing Sempron v i3 can be misleading. I value screen quality and keyboard quality over out-and-out performance - battery life too. As long as there is sufficient power to run my apps (which there is with both).
In the past I've found Dell to be more consistent with keyboards and screens than eMachines/Acer/Compaq/Asus/etc, but it's always difficult to judge without seeing the individual models in question. All manufacturers have made laptops with good and bad build quality.

This isnt a good deal. Im amazed some people seem to think so just because its a Dell. As for that guys CS question. THe customer service on Lenovo is fine. Lenovo are a very reputable company. Its the same as IBM.

tbh i used that as an example of a recent great deal. this is a single core with 4 hr battery life its poor for this money i expect dual core. hell even netbooks are moving to dual core processors.
