Be aware the warranty is now down to 90 day minimum, you may want to pay the extra £39 for 1yr or even £69 for 3yrs warranty.

Also available with XP media center OS here

Ouch - 90 day warranty! Still not a good deal as compared to Vostro 1500. But does have 2gb ram though. Hungry laptop with 4 cell battery might be a decider for me. Think I will wait as these deals seem to be getting worse week by week IMHO.

Hi guys,

Anyone have thoughts on this one compared to the Insprion 6400? I'm still waiting for that one and getting a bit annoyed. If this one ships quicker, I might look at getting it. Is this a better deal.. i'm not worried about 20 -30 pound difference between the two...

MikeT, any thoughts?

Thanks everyone...

Andre

Andre, the 6400 is on 4 weeks or more leadtime now.

This looks like it could well be a good swop for the 6400 (N09643) though I would maybe upgrade the battery from 4 to 6 cell on this one. Vista Premium is a bonus over business too.
Upgrading the screen to TrueLife [add £11.75] is a nice price but be sure you can live with the reflections, personally I prefer it, but its like Marmite, you either love or hate it.

The manual with full specs is here
Be aware that there appears to be no firewire port on this model

Don't forget Quidco are also giving an extra £10 for any order over £250....although I am still waiting for mine to be paid from the last promo!!! That's £26.50 off with Quidco

Thanks for the reminder Twinkle, I think I got up too early today! Should have remembered that offer.

Well I got up to a flooded garage at 5.00am...so I'm well awake.......... oh hum:-D

I thought UK law states all goods require a one year guarentee, customer statatory rights and all that.
#10
It's 90 day collect and return. For the next 9 months the customer has to pay shipping. It is a 12 month warranty.
#11
The spec looks good on this one. Any comments on the capabilities of the graphics card? Would it play games that are not too graphics intensive such as Sims 2?

Can everyone access the link??

When I click on Go to Deal, a new window opens up & the page crashes..

Dont know how you all are accessing it?? :giggle:
#13
Is it me or does the link come up as £499? I can't get it at the £449 price :-(
#14
Under UK law Dell are still liable on warranty for 12months if the product is bought brand new, whether that warranty will be as fast/good as the 1st 3months is another matter, but then if warranty really mattered you'd go for 3 years no?

I can't get it to £449 either, maybe they've upped the price during the day? I've double checked I've got base warranty and all minimum spec stuff.

Yes £499 now, they removed the free delivery.
