Not sure what's hot about this. Looks like this was expensive to be begin with and only now is reasonably priced?
#3
Bit expensive for me, but it has a Blueray writer which boosts the price a bit, but hot for the spec.

The 1525 is better built, but the Studio 15 can have a better graphics card. Depends which you want, or you could go to PC world/Currys and by the new 1545 which is more expensive with even less spec than the 1525 and no HDMI.

Better built - how did you come to that conclusion? Considering the 1525 is the budget laptop in the home range. Personally I have had both and much prefer the studio.

Sorry the deal has to be cold, especially as you can get a studio with the same spec for £500 in the outlet and dell are also doing offers like this:
Studio 15 - £599
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T6400 (2.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 Cache)
15.4" Wide Screen WXGA WLED (1280 x 800) Display with TrueLife™

Plus free laptop bag and logitech mouse.

I am typing this on my Dell 1525 which i bought about 6 months ago. The only differences in the specs is that it now comes with a Blu-Ray read/writer instead of reader ( which cant play new blu-rays anyway) and mine has a 802.11 b/g/n card inside. The main main difference is that i paid £499 and got roughly £25 quidco !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.I dont believe that an addition of a bluray read/writer can make such a massive difference in price.

Well, believe it :)

Price of a full size external Blu-ray RW: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143266
Slimline reading laptop drive: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Panasonic-UJ-130A-4x-Blu-Ray-Reader-8xDVDR-4xDVDDL-Notebook-Drive-SATA-Oem-(Inc-Software)
Slimline burning laptop drive: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/LG-GBW-T10N-4x-Blu-ray-Writer-Internal-Notebook-Slimline-SATA-Bare-Drive

So, what Dell are asking for is VERY reasonable...

yeah have to say it is the blu-ray writer that really bumps up the price of this machine, they still cost stupid amounts of money. While it is a good price for a machine with blu-ray writer and is actually the first none sony one i have seen the rest of the specs do not warrant that price. If you actually need a machine with blu-writer than great personally i would rather wait a bit longer to get one at a much better price
