You need to edit the title, it reads as £44 not £449. :)

Sorry, the 'here' link is to a site that lists all the Dell deals but if you click through and buy, he gets cashback. No problem with that, but want people to be aware.

The quick codes can be entered here.

9200M = Quality? Hmmmm I suppose you don't play many games.

But anyways good deal here :)
#14
looks good if u wanna do anything but play games.

Internet, Word, Excel, Photoshop, BD playback (even hook upto a TV & use as a BD player) :)

Has anyone got an opinion on which of these is better, this one or:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/307566/hp-g70-120ea-l-with-blu-ray-player-/showthread.php?t=307566
Really not that into laptops but do like the idea of it functioning as an occasional BR player for the bedroom. Any information would be appreciated.

This Laptop looks pretty swish think im gonna go for it in morning :)

I was just wondering..... See how it has the buy now pay nothing until July this year. Well if i put deposit on it now with the finance thing they want you to purchase it through... could i just pay off the whole amount when it comes to July?

Never done it this way before but dont have the cash right this min and that would be helpfull if i could. Somebody please share some light with me :D

Does it really have a blu ray burner, i spoke to an advisor & they said its the Rewriter which plays and copies the CDS and DVD and the speed is 6x. Then I said you say it is a blu ray burner on your web site so she said it does then & the dvd write at 16X. From that chat alone makes me think that it's not a blu ray burner, the price seems to cheap for that. It also doesn't have infa red because I wanted to use a media remote control.

This isn't a BD burner. It burns CD's and DVD's but only read's BD's

Optical Storage
DVD burner to read/write CD/DVD (DVD+/-RW)
Blu-ray Disc to read/burn CD/DVD and read Blu-Ray disc (DVD+/-RW + BD-ROM

So the description "Blu-Ray RW Disc Drive" is misleading?

It clearly says

Inspiron 1525
Blu-Ray burner for huge storage capability

and then

Blu-Ray RW Disc Drive (read/write CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Disc)

If you click on the "Help me choose" link it says:

High capacity, plus the flexibility to burn and play Blu-ray Discs, DVDs and CDs. Note: The Blu-Ray Disc (BD) Combo reads BD (plays hi-definition movies) but does not write to BD discs.

so still none the wiser.

Never been a fan of Dell's, but if this does include a blue Ray rewriter I might consider it.

do you think this has a hdmi or dvi output?

it's HDMI.

Just had a chat with dell support after almost an hour waiting in a queue. They confirmed that the drive can write blu-ray discs.

anyone know how to backup a blu ray disc yet?

I connected the HP g70 to a 6 series Samsung (1080p) but was very disappointed with the picture quality and playback (wasnt that smooth) and cetainly not as good as even the most basic BD players. I didnt notice it quite so much on the laptop screen, so assume its a scaling thing or poor HDMI output. I dont know if this will be any better and I havent tried a higher spec'd machine on the same setup, but I would be a bit wary of buying this solely on the premise of being able to play BD discs on a big screen.

I stand to be corrected though and will vote hot as the spec is pretty good for the price.

ye good point, i cant see it being too much cop when connected unless you get a better graphics card. the reason i would go for this though is that you aren't stuck to just the bluray player, you can always burn your "backups" ;) of blurays and then play them on ps3 or a bluray player and get very good quality
#31
so is this a blu ray burner or just a Blu ray rom reader and dvd burner?
