I'm not a great fan of these as in my opinion Dell have failed in that they dont yet offer a graphics card upgrade, but its pricing isnt too bad and they seem quite popular.

I like the pretty colours, makes the laptop a bit more unique!

Have you actually tried using a notebook with a Celeron M?

The new mobile celerons are nothing like the old celerons of the past. I was pleasantly surprised how well they work.

Intel should have ditched the Celeron name long ago as the old ones got a bad press. The current generation Celerons are based on the same architecture as the C2D and actually perform really well.

Not as good as the Vostro deal last week. Went for that one myself. Agree about the bad delivery times though (over 4 weeks!!)

Yes it always was a 1.86Ghz cpu as standard, but the upgrade is now not free.

Intel Celeron Processor 550 (2.0Ghz, 533 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 cache) [add £5.01]

I'm currently running a Celeron 550 in my Vostro 1700, great Processor, isn't as happy about multitasking as my old Turion X2 but it's faster than the AMD64 3000 in my brothers Desktop so it's nothing to be too upset about

And here's a link to one of MikeT's older threads about the Celeron 540
