If anyone bought this for £509 they were truly ripped off. Price is OK for a reasonable dual core Celeron but not especially exciting.

>reduced from £509

As has been said, I doubt this was EVER £509, or anything near it.

£409 maybe.

£459 for a week in April 09 was the closest it ever got.

And that would have had Vista on it.

Couldn't agree more, better spec for not much more cash and you don't have to wait for delivery.

In fact having just had another look at the Samsung deal, it seems it has a T4300 cpu and comes with wireless-n so it's definitely a better deal. I'd say probably the best around at the moment for this kind of money.

good price, I would strongly advice taking the three year warranty as dell units are not as reliable as the other good brands

What a load of rubbish, i've had 3 desktops, 3 laptops and 3 netbooks from Dell and have had no problems with any of them. In fact the only problem i've had with any computer is my HP laptop where the plastic cracked on one of the hinges.

What is the Samsung deal everyone is talking about?

You can upgrade the CPU on this Dell to a Pentium Dual Core T4300 for an extra £39.99 making it £369.00.

The T4300 is the same CPU as in the Samsung from Comet (which seems out of stock almost everywhere)

fair enough mate just saying i still think the dell for 353 delivered is a better option with the bigger hd as well, and i dont think dell are as good as they were 5 years ago but thats just my opinion

Gone up to £339.63. DELL are quick at putting the vat back up.

You lost me at "celeron".

i`ve been on the dell website and upgraded to the T4300 but it won`t allow me to enter the 10% coupon so price is coming up as £429- when i checked it says that the deal comes with free shipping and 2 coupons can`t be used at once, however it won`t allow me to remove the free shipping coupon. Any ideas?
