mis price? dell are known for them....
#2
This should get some heat
#3
This is the standard price for this model - full list here:

http://www.dmxdimension.com/dell-uk/inspiron-15-deals-codes-coupons/

Ignore the expiry date - they usually just get extended. For an extra £50 you can get a Core i3 model with 6 cell battery.

Not in this case, the spec is very entry level and I would expect this to be the standard price.

I got the 1555 from Dell pre Xmas for £379 and it has the faster processor and 6 cell battery but this has a larger drive. So £349 sounds about right. I would try to get the 6 cell battery as the 4 cell would give you just over 2hrs I reckon. I can squeeze 4hrs out of my 6 cell.
#7
Yes, have to agree, this is the standard price, so not voting either way. It's a decent price imo, but it's nothing different from the norm.
#8
Processor is very very weak, I recommend going saving an extra £50 and going for the i3...

Processor is not weak at all, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. It's amazing how people get suckered by the 'hype'.
#11
Got to have True Life screen - yuk.

Sorry Mate,

Nice try but ice cold!

This is a very standard computer and should actually be cheaper than it is!
#13
4-cell and Celeron should be less that 320.
#14
It's not especially hot - perhaps what you should pay for such a spec but according to the rules of this site it has a Celeron processor so it has to voted cold. It's a very decent entry level processor quick enough for most peoples needs.
#15
ha, glad i posted this before I bought it!

Thanks for the feedback, will give it a miss then.

Just one thing if you buy it through Cashback kings you get £50 Cashback, so makes it £299

Hope this helps someone.

Really? Can you provide a link to this offer - is this with any Dell laptop purchase?

Yes of any Laptop. Paid as cashback

It looks like Quidco is giving 10% cashback, so if that counts on the total purchase (warranties, too) you could get more like 70 quid back on this laptop. And of course, if you're buying a Studio it would work out even better...

They don't need to think, it written on the components above - if you could read.

So as well as knowing nothing about computers, you can't compose a proper sentence either. Just keep digging.

As regards this laptop, I have the T3000 version, I got it a couple of weeks back when it was £329. I'm very happy with it. The performance is more than adequate and I use it for actual work, not just playing around. It isn't the sturdiest of laptops, the lid has a fair bit of flex to it but the rest of it is very sturdy.

Lot of negative comments but no-one has come up with a better deal.

I'm looking for a laptop around £300.

MikeT what have you got up your sleeve?

I voted a lot of people, who posted good deals on computer, but this Dell Inspiron 1545 it just a standard for web browsing and words and the price don't even match for this specification laptop...

320GB Hard drive - Good.
DDR2 3GB - Fine.
Intel® Celeron Dual Core T3100 - Poor.
The Intel Integrated GMA 4500MHD - Rubbish.

I build my own computer and upgrade parts for hardcore gaming, System Tweaking and Overclocking...
you can stop fussing and putting words - the thread not getting Hot here, it not a good deals...

Well you don't seem to know your stuff at all in fact - the T3100 (45nm Penryn core) is actually faster than previous 65nm Core 2 Duo cpus running at 2GHz (e.g. T5800). My wife has this laptop with a T3000 and uses it for web surfing, MS Office and some CAD and I can assure you it runs very well indeed with Windows 7. The graphics may be rubbish for gaming but what has that got to do with it - most laptop purchases are not actually for gaming - they are bought by people who just want to run mainstream tasks. In fact it supports HD video acceleration so I can play HD MKV videos as well without any issues.

If you want to continue to embarrass yourself thats fine by me. I don't know why you are trying to use your 'expertise' in overclocking, 'hardcore' gaming etc to talk about this laptop, it's a completely different entity altogether. You logic is a bit like a racing driver saying the performance of Mondeo is poor, maybe in comparison with a racing car but how many people need a racing car?

As brookheather mentioned this laptop will play HD video fine and I personally find my T3000 version very capable as a software development machine and can run my virtualised dev servers no problem in it.

Clearly. Future-proof with 1MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB, 1.9 dual core. Scorching! Hey, if it runs programs fine today then that means it'll be great in two years time right? Sure!

Like I said, comparatively the processor is very weak compared to the i3 available for £50 more. Faster clock speed, 3MB l3 cache, better power management, hyperthreading, DDR3 Ram, integrated (and superior) video chip. Notebookcheck ranks the T3100 98th, the i3 45th.

I work for an online laptop magazine so I guess yeah I don't know what I'm talking about.

It seems like you get off on flaming people for passing comment on things you don't agree on; how old are you?

"No brain, no life, we don't care what you think"... really?
