the dell outlet means this could be a recon? are you sure its not a scratch and dent?

any mention of the battery?

if its clear, then the dell refurbs are fine, i bought a dell mini from refurb (not a scratch and dent) at i swear it is new, perfect all the way

Oh!, i saw dell outlet thingy at the bottom, dunno how that got there then!

6 cell battery should be good for 4 hours i think
and obsidian black outer cover

good spec for the same money that usually buys average! +1

I was looking at buying one of these. They have been this price for a few weeks now, but a good heads up for people who are unaware. Very good spec for the price.

My Dell Inspiron 6400 has lasted 4 years so far. However, I spilt a cup of tea over it two weeks ago and although still functioning, two of my keys are completely bust - no amount of cleaning has rectified it.

is this not the same as http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/595524/dell-inspiron-1564-core-i3-3gb-ddr3 ????? posted 3 weeks ago

Very cheap for a new i3, why isn't this hotter?

The i3 is about 40% more poweful than the obligatory Pentium T4300 most laptops in this price range have

Almost tempted myself at this price, even though I'm a Mac person.

i'm glad you have time to trawl through the old stuff, anything over about 3 days old seem to get lost for me. There is so much being posted I find deals dificult to find before I post. I do always try look before posting

There is no HDMI output on the £399 model unless I am mistaken.

According to the Dell agent on the Sales chat on the Dell site the estimated delivery time is April 7th! Seem way to long

It's takes about 10 seconds to run a search.
It was posted over a month ago anyway.

I took a trip to PCWorld today to look at this laptop, and came away very impressed. It seems to be build a lot nicer than the Studio 15 with high quality materials. Feels very nice to use, and its quick with the i3. Dosen't weigh too much for a 15" either. Debadged in isolation this could be mistaken for a high-end premium laptop. I am now seriousley considering replacing my MacBook with one of these. At £399 its seriousley cheap for the spces and quality your getting, can't see Dell continuing to offer them at this price for long. PCWorld had theres stickered up for in the region of £600 - £700, and it had the same CPU as this.

Bum, just read this and for am wondering if going for the studio 15 at 529 was worth paying the difference. Can you clarify what you thought was wrong with the studio 15 build quality?

The Inspiron felt a lot more premium to me, it was very solidily built with little flex in the body and a nice solid alluminium-feel palmrest, it really is a great laptop for the money. The Studio is nice, but it feels like a cheaper laptop, even though its more expensive. The keyboard had a lot more flex and the whole machine was much more plasticy.

I popped into PC World myself. I see what you mean about the 1564 it looks like it is finished off really nicely.

I wonder if PC World would price match the Dell site? Anyone tried this before?

CashbackKings website mentions £50 cashback on Dell laptops. Just wondering how good they are in processing the cashback? If someone have any good/bad experience with them?
