After a few bad experiances with Dell recently I'm not buying one again. Novatech have a special offer on one of their laptops at the moment, down £50 to £350 with Windows 7. Same spec as this mius 1GB of ram. (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/laptop/range/n3promo.html)

Trust me, they have way better customer service and free tech support for life to boot.

For what it is it's a good deal OP if you prefer Dell machines

Its only 2gb RAM may not be good enough to run Win 7 , Dell one is 3GB.

£11 to add 1GB of memory. £20 to add 2GB memory.

If you are going to buy a laptop that only has integrated (and not discrete) graphics, then I think it's best to get one of the new Sandy bridge ones, despite the extra cost. The difference in graphics performance is meant to be significant.

Seem to be very good.

I had the old inspiron 1545, bought it in July, went to uni then sold it on ebizzle the next July for £30 less than I paid for it.

Spec wise they are about even. Id go for Dell though, I hate acer laptops, they just look like really cheaply made toys.

Well, 2GB Ram in my Sony CR120E is more than enough for Windows 7 and this is a 3.5 year old machine! I'd say the Tosh and Dell specs will be fine.

any one provide advice on the HD Radeon graphics? It's integrated so assume its not good?
#24
~Inspiron is a crappy quality laptop had the 1525 for £500 broke after 1 year
#25
Should i get this or wait out for a deal with the new sandy bridges? or straight out buy one from dell? i would like to save money.
#26
Shame none of these have an express card port. Got an external USB 3 drive I currently use via a USB 3 express card adapter. Would go for a Sandybridge with built-in USB3 support but they're still out of my price range.
#28

That laptop is in a different performance league BUT, for the price is hot. (3% Quidco too). Who's going to make this a deal then?
#29
Now £390

this was hot
