Just a general comment - 17" laptop displays can gobble battery-life - so do be sure how this/any model is rated before plumping at any price. (Lesson learned the hard way by friend.)
this is a good price! voted hot esp high res WLED screen. whos voted this cold??!
don't forget 22% of Dell's go wrong in the first 3 years, so it might be worth getting the extra warranty if your laying out this much money

I have had 5 dells they are all still working - one is 8 years old the only prob i've ever had is that my battery was defunct on my netbook when i got it. was replaced next day. having said that my gf bought an early build i6400 and the dvd drive has never worked properly, but she never did anything about getting it replaced even tho i told her it had to be and it was a problem with the drives they initially used so i think thats kinda her fault.... anyways i'd change my PC at least every 3 years otherwise its old and crap by then anyways.....
Ok i'm confused  do you change your pc every 3 years or not

Every nine months with me, one day i will find one that likes me, (same goes for my computers nowadays)
so change 3 yr or 9 mth---- keep 8 yrs --great
lol moorjock ;)
