It seems a bargain but not sure? So thought I'd list it.Apparently a quad core.

Until they verify then suggestions are this is a dual core CPU not a quad they are advertising it as, however I am awaiting verification from john lewis and will change it here if nessicary.

Compact yet powerful, the Dell Inspiron micro desktop will keep your desk clutter free while whizzing through your workload and storing all your files. Built with a quad-core Intel Celeron processor for speedy performance and a reliable, responsive 32GB solid-state drive.

This compact desktop is fitted with a HDMI and DisplayPort, so you can link it to a monitor or HD TV for an even bigger screen experience.

for similar money can get same spec laptop or tablet.
you gain a screen.
touch (if tablet).
portable with built in battery.
keyboard (if laptop).
most have hdmi out so you can hook up to a bigger screen.
even using a tablet as a pc unit might be cheaper. just connect keyboard/mouse/monitor just like you have to if you bought this Dell unit.

u can access the OS with broken screen.
use hdmi out to monitor.
use usb hub to hook up keyboard and mouse.

I'm sure that this Dell unit will break down eventually.
same with anything electronic.

It's not quad core. http://ark.intel.com/products/78866/Intel-Celeron-Processor-J1800-1M-Cache-up-to-2_58-GHz

That it's ssd is improvement over the usual at low end, and the number of ports is a bonus, but it's hard to see much value in it. Got a favourable review here though http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/pcs/1403976/dell-inspiron-micro-desktop-review-miniature-excellence

Yes it is quad core as it states in the advertisement otherwise it's false advertisement a breech of consumer law if sold as such.I doubt John Lewis will make such a mistake.

It's branded it's a good company the b all end all it's cheap trolling gets you so far then it makes you look like it is, downplaying a bargain possibly in some misplaced attempt to feel or look cool

I could also get a Gigabyte Brix BXBT-1900, 4Gb stick of RAM, 120Gb SSD and Windows 10 Pro licence for around £170.

So for me, the Dell is an expensive box for the specs that it has because there are better specced options out there for the same money or less.

Maybe its late but I didn't understand any of that. Also a quick Google of Intel Celeron Processor J1800 confirms its DUAL core
#12
j1800 dual core
j1900 quad core

dell probably makes 2 models.
make sure Ctrl Alt Del and see if 2 or 4 core performance tab in your local John Lewis

Accidental and disappointing maybe, but a mistake it is when referencing the J1800 as a quad core as it is actually a dual core. It was debated to death over a year ago when it was being shifted at £99.99 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dell-inspiron-micro-desktop-brand-new-intel-j1800-ssd-win-8-1-incl-del-vat-99-dell-2278770?p=25941353

It's clearly 2 core. That's not something that Intel would get wrong. It's their low end processor line, and it will run Windows, albeit rather slowly. I have a dell laptop running a similar processor and the delays are quite annoying. You can't upgrade the processor in these boxes, as it's soldered to the motherboard, so just get something better to begin with.

Stop fishing for fuel to argue with you look really silly, after all where did I state Intel know less about specs of their own processors that' right I remember now I didn't say that lol Pondlife.Just emailed john lewis any way to get verification, there is a pentium quad core version of the 3050 micro desktop,is celeron j1800 supposed to say the pentium processor model name in the ad I don't know? Unlikely but unknown here until they respond.Either way it'stating quad core in that ad.

Only one looking foolish here is you. I gave you the intel link saying it's dual core you said John Lewis won't be wrong. Retailers are always making mistakes with tech products it's dual core.

You win some/lose some, huh?, lol.
