Looks like your after my job Jommpa ;-) Can I go back to bed now?

Please add the correct ecode into the tag box when posting dells as it makes it easier to find them later in the week.

This seems a good deal. I have been looking to upgrade (Dimension 5150 P4 which has been awesome), for a while and with Vista Premium should make a nice PC.

Sorry I forgot to check the code. I was in a hurry to get it bought :)

Also forgot to say you HAVE to upgrade the memory to 1 gig to allow it to use Vista Premium as it doesn't allow you to progress if you don't.

Keep up the good work though MikeT - you seem to have your finger on Dell's pulse.
#3
That's more like it jomppa this is a good deal.
#4
Just ordered :-)

Added
- 20.1 monitor
- upgraded HD to 320GB

Removed
- Mouse (hope this is OK!?)

Came to £364.24 inc delivery !
Went through Quidco so should get a small discount too.

Just need a nice Bluetooth keyboard and remote (cheaper than Dell?) and it's a cracking HD system.

Happy Customer - AGAIN!

You can't get this deal as you cannot select the Vista premium option with 512Mb ram. You have to select the 1Gb upgrade at £23 extra.

But you can take off the mouse today saving £17.
Quidco at 4.5% takes a bit more of too.
#8
I thought so TOO, as I ordered with 1GB RAM - BUT now it does seem to let you !
£217.36 with no mouse as Sean says :-) :-)
EDIT - mouse removal seems OK - 512MB memory not :-(

You can't do that either without selecting the wireless keyboard and mouse instead.

Yes you can, not supposed to but it works.

How do I find out the ecode from the dell website?

Also, it's showing as a compatibility issue with taking off the mouse!
#13
e-value code needs UKDHSONL in the first box followed by either tag d07505a or d07515 for the two systems discussed here (answering my own question...)
#14
Lowest you can get this is 258.48 - the mouse trick doesn't work anymore, and you have to have 1gb of memory....

Still pretty good for a 19" monitor, and decent enough PC... Might want to consider upping the CPU to the Core 2 Duo - futureproofing it a little, other choices are personal preference of course.
[mod]#15
The ecode is 305-D07505A
#16
217 is correct, dell giving stuff away today but i think this is the best deal core 2 duo 1gb £299
#17
If it is still about tomorrow I might invest :)
#18
217 is NOT correct - you can't buy that system as it will complain about compatibility. You have to change the memory to 1Gb and buy a £17 mouse. - £258.48

As I say, two worthy upgrades are the 19" widescreen rather than the value, and a Core 2 Duo - total price after that is £334.86
#19
yeah the mouse thing comes up if you try to checkout.heres funny played halo 2 on vista ultimate last night and it dosent support a widescreen mode,so have to play with black bars.
#20
What's the difference with the Viiv Core2Duo processor for the same price?
#21
mant thanks
#22
yep upgrade to a more expensive o/s for 94 quid less, and we expect it to last, almost said better o/s,but vista truly is a joke, thought people exagerated..but not ,back to xp for me.vista looks good but after 2 days of hdd constantly spinning the novelty wears almost more than my platters.

one hour to install halo 2 on a 5.9 rated rig
#23
Has anyone who ordered, received their full order confirmation yet ?
#24
Received an email tonight, got to add a mouse to get it...will work out at £255, Couldn't get it at the original price in the first post as needed to upgrade memory....was costing £240.

same spec on the dell website to what I will get if I add the mouse is £375.98
#25
Has anyone tried to install a second hard drive in one of these? Just wondering if they supply you with a data and power cable for an extra drive or if I will have to pick them up myself?
#26
The Del 520 I purchased recently had it all set up ready to just drop another drive into it.....I would assume this will be a Sata drive drive only with Sata power supply connector so don't expect a P10 connector (white 4 pin)
#27
Yes thanks it is a sata drive.
#28
Hi,

What's the difference between Inspiron 530 and Diemension E520?

MS
#29
Go here and check out the manuals on both models.
#30
I did the same, dert, removed the £17 mouse as it allowed it for this.

I got my confirmation mails through OK yesterday :-)

Then had 2 emails asking to select a mouse one from 3; standard, premium & lazer. All were at an extra cost or the orders would be cancelled within 3 days !!

Dell offered the new Premium mouse for £5 which wasn't too bad.

I think the systems SHOULD be the same as my old Dimension 5110, where the cases are ready to plug and play a second HDD drive.

Hope they are as QUIET as the old Dimensions !!

The AMD version didn't look as quiet in CNETs latest review, as it had a great big fan over the processor ! The old Dimension's Pentium processor fans were sealed, or at least seemed to be.
#31
Thanks for Manuals davelfc.

Had a look and the case doesn't look as 'screwless' as the older model - shame as that was a fantastic case !

Probably changed for cost reasons, as this looks like a standard case.

Just had my Inspiron 530 order backdated to 21/9/07 don't know why unless it is the 20" wide monitor being out of stock?
Anyone else having this problem?
#33
i think dell are having stock problems atm, they arent able to supply us at work with any new laptops for a good month or so. :/

Ordered mine on Tuesday, given 7-10 days by sales rep (I phoned up to haggle over price and saved myself nearly £200  ) When my order number came through I checked and delivery was due 27/7.

Dell reckon they have prioritised my order (I phoned up to complain), but if it goes back to September i won't be happy :x

Mine is the same, rang them to have a moan told me they have prioritised my order. Already sold my old 5150 for the same amount as i brought it! I wish dell would hurry up.
