are you saying that we can now save a fiver on the previous price??
#2
Not my cup of tea but a bargain all the same. HOT
#3
Voted Hot as it is the lowest price today for a system unit from Dell.
But, I notice the equivalent Vostro 200 has gone up from £162 to 200 today.
Are Dell getting ready for more price cuts?
What does your spidey sense tell you MikeT? :-)

Depends if you would like to run them at 640*480 :p

This is not a good computer for playing video games on, it's more like a word, internet, emails computer.

I've given up on using a pc for the latest games. Just stick to a console for games and buy a PC for surfing and apps.

the graphics card is integrated, and in m experiance they can't handle diddly squat.

good for parents or people that just need it for internet/word processing.

Looks an ideal platform for a nice Windows Home Server. Another fine find Mike!

Is the HP DX2250 listed here on Hot Deals not a BETTER buy?? :?

I've ordered a Dell Vista Vostro in the last fortnight and I am finding Vista a nightmare. Any idea of who to contact in Dell to get it downgraded to XP - I've just wasted 50 mins of my life with a very nice man from India who could do nothing except run up my phone bill.
#13
I have got Vista on my new vostro too - it has not been too bad for me. There are a few of my apps and devices which do not work as before, but now it is working I prefer it to xp.
#14
I'm not knocking Vista in itself, it's just that I'm such a dinosaur that my software and hardware were always likely to be too old for it to deal with
#15
A few months ago I emailed them saying I wanted to return a laptop
because there were no drivers for the printer I had.
(this wasn't true - I just hated Vista)
They phoned me back and offered to send out the XP install disk.

If you login to the Dell site you should be able to try something similar

So if you remove the screen the system unit comes down to £134.01 (including VAT)

Delivery is £60 (including VAT), the total cost is £194.

So it costs half as much to deliver it as it does to buy all the components and assemble it.

Something not right there.

Dell just do this I'm afraid. Then they can have special offers with "free" Delivery, but higher prices for the kit. If you think of Dell like a furniture store, you'll see what they are up to. Its a 365 day sale, punctuated with good offers from time to time.
