Wow looks very good, upgrade the graphics to a 8600GT for 58 quid and you have a very good gaming machine!

QUIDCO BACK TO SCHOOL BONUS until SEP 30th only : Dell is giving £10 cashback to any Quidco member who makes a purchase of £250 or more. This is on top of the blistering 5% cashback that we get from them. Dell carries a large range of laptops, desktops, PDA's, printers and more. They often have some of the best prices on the net with a reputation to match.

I'm well out of touch with CPU specs at the moment - was looking at last weeks Dell offers but havn't got on with anything - how does this compare to the Core 2 Duo E4400 Processors ?

I think I'd prefer to stick with XP too for the moment.

hmm, you can upgrade this to 5600 as well for just 17 quid. Considering i am gaming with an athlon 3500 and a 6600gt graphics card this would be quite an improvement.

I agree i like XP - but am giving Vista Lite a go to see if thats any good.

I want a new pc, mainly for internet, photos and hopefully home video editing, do you think this is the best deal at the moment for simething like that? Also what processor do you choose as there is 2 the same price, live or not??? dont know the difference.
Many thanks.

Do the 530 or 531 have a front firewire port ie. near to the front USB sockets? (or would I have to choose the £10 extra pci firewire card option?)

How does one get optical sound out from these machines? (onboard 7.1 sound doesn't support it I assume so a new card would be necessary?)
