Nice machine for the money. Probably worth going with the 64-bit version of Vista (for no extra charge) though, unless you specifically rely on hardware or software that will only work on the 32-bit version.

I think they have pushed the price back up to £479. The good offers hang around for a couple of days... :x

An aside - I still think the Compaq John Lewis quad core for £499 is a better deal though, and with a 2 year gaurantee

You'd need to check if Dell provide XP drivers for the hardware.

Is there a specific reason you need XP? It's getting very old these days and it shows, with Windows 7 just around the corner you'd get a far better experience with that instead.

Poor deal. Not quad core, low HD, 3mb cache.

Quad core HP with 500gb+ HD and 4gbRAm 64bit Premium and 21" is about the spec for this money.
