what's got the better spec / deal. This or the 17" Vostro?
#6
This one....it's got a Dual-Core Processor.

The HDD upgrade to 160GB for £8.51 is worth thinking about also!

Just in case anyone misses it…. you have to select the Truelife screen upgrade !

Truelife screens are a personal choice, I personally find them to reflective…I prefer the matt type screen.

guys, i just bought an acer, core 2 duo, t5500 1.6Ghz, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd, 15.4" brightview, 5in1 card reader, bluetooth, 4usb, firewire, s-video, wireless, dvdrw, 6 cell battery for £345 delivered. Is that a good deal????

Just about to put my order in for these.

One question, I know that buying from Small Business site will mean that I can't return the product if I don't like it.

But what if there is a defect as a Small Business Customer would I be at a disadvantage?

Thanks

Goods still have to be of merchantable quality so if there is a problem/fault then use customer support just like you would if you bought on home site.
I've not had problems when dealing with SB in the past.

i think thats a great deal if its a DUO CORE 2 * as that is far faster and i believe support x64 OS too. £345 nice where from ?

You can place in a Duo core 2 processor @ 1.7ghz on this DELL 6400 and add trulife screen , go upto 160gb HD for a total of £450!

and you would be correct:oops:

been trying to decide between these any thoughts

the dell in this deal!

price £351

this one from misco

http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=287329&Tab=2&NoMapp=0

price approx £305 after cashback

this one from johnlewis

http://www.johnlewis.com/Technology/Computers/Computers/Laptops/398/230445992/Product.aspx

price £350 after xmas voucher

all have similar quidco cashback as extras on above prices

i like the john lewis one for the 2 yr warranty

also like with the acer that you can get an extended warranty from here for £50 and laptop bag etc

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Years-extended-Warranty-Laptop/dp/B000RK1Q2E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1196726497&sr=8-3

which would make it a similar price (£350) as the others but have a 3 yr warranty

any thoughts

its for my daughters birthday to take to uni next yr

i think that the dell has the best processor? and is perhaps the best built...but only has a 1 yr warranty

the acer only has vista basic
dell...vista business
toshiba...home premium
does this matter?

AdrOck : since I bought a dirt cheap Acer, I am interested in the warranty extended to 3 yrs for £50! It says warranty type is "carry in", from reading the acer guarantee leaflet, this appears to mean bring it to an acer repair centre (or if you buy from pc world you take it back there) and they will fix it and you can collect from there or post to acer (at your cost) and they will post back at their cost (mail in servoce).
