Thanks again MikeT, rep added. I'm looking for a low cost good spec laptop and this looks good. Don't know whether to go for it or wait off a bit. Oh decisions, decisions.
[mod]#3
The only thing wrong with this is the cpu isnt as strong as it could be, fine for everyday stuff but intense work may get it slowing a bit, but the price is right.
Very short on good lapy deals this week

No, upgrading this ecode to Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5300 (1.73 GHz, 2 MB cache, 533 MHz FSB) is about the best you can do on the 6400 this week.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between this Dell computer and this one on Amazon - What would you recommend?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/

Edit by MikeT, sorry no market trader links allowed
[mod]#13
That is a market trader anyway, it has smaller cpu and half the ram of the dell.

Sorry for all the questions but can someone tell me which processor to go for:
AMD® Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL52
or
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5300 (1.73 GHz, 2 MB cache, 533 MHz FSB)

I generally go for Intel's but the AMD is more expensive - is it actually better?

The intel dual core is better and I think more expensive than the amd one.

The AMD works out more expensive actually. Anyone else offer any advice?

I'm looking to buy a lappy and this looks good. Thing is my bruv has just told me his mates sister is selling hers as she needs the money to go on holiday. Anyway the spec is as follows:

Inspiron 5101 Turion 64 X2 TL52 (1.6Hz, 512k)

15.4" Wide Screen XGA TFT Display: 1280x800

2gb Ram

120GB (5, 400 rpm) Hard Drive

4 Cell 29WHr Primary Battery

ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory

Dell 153; Wireless 1490 802. 11a/b/g Mini-PCI Card (for AMD Processors)

Vista Home Premium

Base Warranty

It also has Nero Premium on it and a carry case. She wants 500 quid for it. IS this a good deal or is the one on this thread a better deal?

Thanks
