I hadn't realised you could buy a Dell with Ubuntu in the UK!
Last I heard it was US only. Good stuff.
[mod]#2
From 6am today you can, but only this one so far.

Compared to other similar Dell systems, Dell Ubuntu Linux systems have:

* The same hardware
* The same regulatory certifications/approvals
* The same BIOS

Drivers and Support

Dell does not warrant or provide support for drivers provided in the base Linux distribution. For driver information:

* Visit www.ubuntu.com.
* Contact the device manufacturer.
* Contact the open-source community.

Technical Support Questions

Dell supports the n Series hardware, but does not warrant or provide technical support for operating systems installed by customers, including Ubuntu Linux. Dell offers Ubuntu Linux “as is” under the GNU General Public License (see Dell supports the n Series hardware, but does not warrant or provide technical support for operating systems installed by customers, including Ubuntu Linux. Dell offers Ubuntu Linux “as is” under the GNU General Public License (see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txtExternal link for the full text of the license) for the full text of the license)

Other Operating Systems

Dell offers Ubuntu Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a factory-installed option on select Dell Series desktops and notebooks. Other Linux distributions are available through Dell Software and Peripherals, but not as factory-installed options. Microsoft Windows operating systems are not offered on Dell n Series systems.

I would like to say that I am glad to see Dell offering Linux instead of forcing you to buy Windows but it appears that Dell want to charge you more to buy a computer with a free opeating system that they charge for a machine with Windows installed! (Compare the current offerings listed on this site - N08645L & N08642XP) In the US, Ubuntu machines were ~£50 cheaper than the equivalent Windows ones. Is this another example of rip of Britain?

Lets hope Dell can offer something better in the next round of pricing.

Although it doesnt look too popular this deal is still currently available at this price.

Pity its a poor price really, would be good to see Dell pushing basic Celeron M/Sempron + 512Mb ram laptops with Ubuntu for under £250. Would be better still to see it as an option on all laptops which reduces price by say £40 for V.H.P./V.Bu. systems and £30 for V.Ba. systems. That is one thing that we certainly wont see happen for a while!
