Upgrades:

9 Cell, 80Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery add £23.50 but remember it sticks out the back a little ;-)
14.1" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WSXGA (1440x900) TFT Display with TrueLife™ add £23.50 suffers for some with reflections but I like it.

Cheers for this Mike.

Does anyone know whether Quidco's extra £25 off £400 until 10th March means that it is still valid for the whole of today or did it run out yesterday midnight ? Always gets me this one :)
#3
Thanks for this Mike, do you maybe know how good/bad the integrated GPU is for this laptop?
[mod]#4
I would have to assume its still valid till midnight tonight, but to be sure ask on Quidco.

I am happy with mine, I only (sad I know) play one game, and dont get much time on that Far Cry and it plays that fine.

Go to my blog for sidebar links to graphic card specs for all mobiles

purchased the 1501 deal posted, and have crackly audio that there appears to be no fix for. Anyone else had the same problem?

I'm using the laptop now but given this problem I feel like returning it. Anyone know if it's possible to return it, and purchase this instead?

I guess I don't mind paying for the courier but do the Distance selling regulations only apply when the box hasn't been opened etc?

Could you contact Quidco Mike about the £25 as you might have more luck.

Thanks

does this laptop have the same graphics as the one I bought? 256 radeon hypermemory?
[mod]#9
sotomonkey, sorry yours is not 100%, you may return it for a full refund within 7 days under the distance selling regs even when you have opened it etc with dell, or if its faulty get it repaired or replaced for free. Give Dell a call they really are quite good mostly.
I cant act for you on Quidco, I suggest you contact them directly if you have a problem.

Video Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 integrated graphics with up to 224MB shared system memory.

See my blog sidebar for further info on mobile graphics

According to a benchmark list with 3DMark05, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 score is 450, same as ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, but slightly lower then NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5700 (500). Seems OK to me.

Cheers for that reply Mike, quite informative.

I guess the only problem is I have to pay for a courier but will probably order this today anyway but with shiney truelife.

Dell are closed for the weekend.

Any chance of stopping flooding the site with Dell "deals"?

I mean, it's getting silly now. Why not just one post a week with you're pick of the "deals" Mike?

It's currently spoiling the site IMHO.

Best to just skip over them neilmonk - there aren't that many to be honest. And also some people think exactly opposite...see this thread for example:

Agree..most PC/laptop enthusiasts look forward to Mike's Thursday postings and are most grateful for the effort and time he dedicates to this task..and long may it continue.
#16
I agree! please keep posting I check all the time as I will be buying a laptop for my son for his birthday. I got a great deal for a computer for my daughter at Xmas. I wouldn't buy from Dell if Mikes posts didn't sort out the best deals.
Please keep them coming and thanks!
#17
I agree too, thanks Mike!. Though there are a lot today and it leaves me lost ;o)

1 posting listing them in order of power might aid those such as me that have little idea about how one laptop processor compares with another.
#18
Thanks Mike for the expert advice you post here. Don't know what I would do without it!
#19
Fair enough. I wasn't slating the guy for one second, please understand that, he obviously spends a LOT of time on his Dell deals.

I'll just skip over them in future and not be a whinging *******!

Keep up the good work Mike, it seems popular!

Now £529.00

bit confused here guys. I bought this laptop early in the deal, my PDF says core 2 duo but the sticker on the laptop just says centrino duo.

Anyone know how to check that it does have the core2duo processer in it? It's important as the core2duo is a 64bit processer and I'm eager to install 64bit linux on this machine.

Many thanks!

lol nevermind, silly me it's right there on the front page of the control panel. Just to make sure, the core2duo is a 64bit processer?
#23
does this deal exist anymore?
[mod]#24
It does but its now £622 so no longer a good deal, I will expire it now. They usually lay down and die quietly ;-)
#25
nope
check [url]www.dmxdimension.com[/url] for valid deals
