Very nice :) Thanks Mike!

Might be worth adding this: 9 Cell, 80Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery [add £11.75]

Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW with Software [add £35.25] Fair enough price for a laptop DVD ReWriter ;)

the 9 cell batteries are very good and last for a decent length of time. but be aware that the extra 3 cells (compared with the normal 6 cell battery) stick out the back of the laptop. personally i think that this looks fine and is well worth it for the extra battery time.

Just a quick warning (why do I always end up being the voice of gloom..?)

This is an excellent laptop, very very fast, and at an excellent with that
extra memory... BUT, be aware that it weighs a tonne.

I was recently given this model as my work laptop, and sent it back within
a couple of days. It's not something I'd want to carry around London.

Strangely, I can't find the exact weigh on Dell's website at all. All I will say
is that the official Dell "carry case" for this laptop is like a heavily reinforced
backpack. It has to be to carry that much weight !!

I'm now the happy owner of the 15" dual-core version (and there's a Hot
Deal for this elsewhere on this site), and it's far less backbraking.

*Weight (lbs): 7.94

*Starting at weight includes 17" WXGA+ display, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, and 6-cell Li-Ion battery. Weights vary depending on configurations and manufacturing variability.

Wouldnt the N08647 be better for that money? £779

Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500 (2 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) Display
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)
120GB (5,400rpm) Hard Drive
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW with Software
128MB ATI® Mobility™ Radeon® X1300 HyperMemory™ graphics card

You lose the 15month security, but thats not expensive to buy seperately.

Good find smashed :) I think the big difference is mostly due to this one having a 17" wxga screen instead of 15".

Didnt see that bit :(

The forum has been really good , its just taken me a long time to register.

Well better late than never ;) Welcome here!

I've got a US sourced Inspiron 9300 (the previous model) and I'd like to say that if travelling, the 17" screens really eat through the battery like it is going out of fashion.

I'm lucky to get 1 hour and 15 mins of use on the standard 6 cell battery - so if you want to use this on the move without power it's definitely an advantage to purchase the 9 cell variety :)

I'd also expect a DVD writer at this price point and like to point out that a laptop of this spec is wasted without decent graphics options.

Welcome to HotUKDeals gtd65 and smashed :)

Thanks for the feedback and agree the 9 cell battery is worth buying for an extra £11.75. The DVDRW drive is £35 on top...

Last day for this offer apparantly, bump :)

Another bump up before it's gone :)
