Dell said the Intel® Viiv Core 2 Duo E4400 Processor (2.0GHz,800MHz,2MB cache) processor is not avalable as a result they are offering a replacement with the Intel® Core 2 Duo E4400 Processor (2.0GHz,800MHz,2MB cache).

The E2140 model now costs a mere £182.11. That's cheap for a computer that is already built, with Windows Vista, Warranty, Keyboard and Mouse AND a bigger hard drive. That's a lot for £42.78 more than the other "deal" that I've posted

I ll rather go and buy a 500 internal one.

Any XP option on this, please?

Think I saw this deal the other day.

Not bad £152 for a basic base unit. I wish it was a small factor as I am looking for a small factor base at this base..

Good deal.

not for £23 you won't

not for £23 you won't

Why buy 160 gb more for £23 when a 500gb cost £61.09 delivered
that is 500/160 = 3.125 i.e going by your opinion 3.125x23 = £71.875.

I think i ll just stick to the 500gb for £61.09. thanks anyway.

Yes I know :) - the tradition here is that a base price based on an e-value code is posted - then all 'upgrades' are discussed under that thread.

I guess that if there are any exceptional spots then it would be reasonable to start a new post, so it can be highlighted. But if everyone started a new post with his flavour of the same e-code there will be a huge number of Dell posts. :)

Thanks for this,

Just ordered a slightly modified version. Annoyed that I had to pay an extra £15 for XP professional though. They initially wanted me to pay an extra £48 for it :-(

I let this one go as it was posted just hours from the Dell update, but yes you are correct and the poster should have searched using the ecode and posted this in the existing thread.

Can you give any update on your order? status/delivery status

Does anyone knows how much you can overclock this processor/motherboard?
#19
Well you can overclock this CPU to 3ghz easily, but unfortunately not in this machine as Dell do not let you overclock any of their machines apart from the top of the range gaming rigs.
That is why I would not buy a core 2 duo dell machine at the moment (unless you go for something like E6750), as these chips are crying out to be clocked.

I hope this doesn't make this machine noisy, as I'm thinking of getting one. :-D

#22
The starting prices only include '1 Year Base Warranty - Collect & Return'.
#23
Price has now fallen to £182.11 (for a E2140 model).
#24
Sorry for the delay in responding.

Ordered it on the Thursday - it arrived on the Monday.

Can't complain really, even if the price has already come down.
