Does the OP work for dell and get a commission or get some sort of perverted pleasure from spending hours on the dell site

He has stated MANY times he does not work for Dell, but like you I wonder why he posts so many Dell deals.

Maybe he works for HotUkDeals and they earn money every time someone clicks on a Dell link on this site?

because Mike is the Dell-igator , see his sig

I find the Dell site a bit confusing, and I suspect I'm not alone, so I appreciate someone taking the time to post up the highlights as regularly as Mike T does. Thanks mate and keep it up.

You're quite right, I find the site infuriating. The fact it is usually really really slow doesn't help. They have lost sales from me more than once because of the hassle of trying to get the best deal. MikeT's deals are a welcome help.

I see their profits have slumped massively in recent times, though maybe that's in line with the PC reseller sector in general. Perhaps though they should think about changing the way they market their products and make buying easier.

I expect their profits are dipping because people are no longer falling for their lets over price something then market it at a sell price the next day, as the op has proven so clearly with his daily postings

I quite agree. Giving your customers the nagging feeling that they might not be getting the best deal just at the point when you want them to hand over large sums of money can't be good for business.

As for this PC you can get a far higher spec one from mesh as in the link below for £20 less
http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?GCLID=CLXDr-mg1ZwCFUQA4wodRlKuIw&PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=483988&APPS=234436
you might need to unclick 2 accessories items to get 279.99

What is the processor like on the compouter at Mesh that was linked to above?

thanks

that doesn't exactly explain why he does it

Can a hot voter explain why they voted hot?
It might help people like me understand why lower spec at a higher cost is rated above better spec at a cheaper price just because its dell, who as most of you know has very poor customer services

Can you please point me to a higher spec PC at a lower cost

Thanks

WhatsThePoint, you sound a bit sour :-).

Partly because the CPU is better and partly because Dell is a company many, many times bigger than Mesh. Makes you feel safer.

He works for HUKD's and promotes Dell as they offer the HUKD site commission for every sale they generate.

That's why you never see HUKD staff promoting cashback sites as they don't make there money if you go to deal via Quidco.

Did someone mention Mesh? Haha.
#13

Out of interest, will these mesh computers be eligible for a free fWindows 7 upgrade?
#14
Mesh charges more than £25 for P&P. The X2 215 came out only a few days ago. http://forums.ocworkbench.com/showthread.php?t=89274

There's a review of the E5300 here. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=3554

Whats even funnier is someone mentioned dell
The mesh deal was just an example, better can be bought from a number of places

I know Dell are hated by a minority of strange people who had one faulty computer but Dell have been pretty solid for me and most others who purchase them. I suggest you post Mesh deals and see how it fairs. According to you it should be a better deal.

You can get 64bit windows instead for no extra cost.

Plus what have i to be sour about, check my posts and you will see i have advised someone to buy a dell that was at a good price in the last couple of days :whistling:
the point i am making here is that the OP fails to mention the dell prices are like yoyo's
they go up one day and down again the next in a sell, yet people on here take that to be good value?
If your unhappy that i advise people that better deals are out there, thats up to you, but i'm sure not everyone wants a dell and would be happier with better spec rather than a dell badge

Then vote it cold, and if you feel the desire post stating your reasons and move on.

Don't start moaning and questioning peoples intentions - your posts are coming across as rather abrasive.

If anyones intentions need questioning its your own - rubbishing a deal and then posting two separate links to the site in a thread under 2 pages long. :whistling:

Awchh, for an extra wee 50 poonds, D004602 ezz much better wee value :)

I'd prefer a better graphics card - guess can be updated easy enough tho

If you read my posts fully its more about dells habit of putting prices up to have a sell the next day, i notice that you and others remain silent on that fact

Not quite what your first post said

But I take your point about the yo-yo prices.

Guys - can this "minitower" be easily upgraded in terms of RAM and a GFX card, or is it like "slim towers" which require special purpose built parts to be fitted?

Thanks
#22
Do any systems come with XP any more, or is that now dead ?
#23
pretty sure its dead
