GREAT LAPTOP FOR GREAT PRICE!

£303.20 - you get Bluetooth & HDMI too

Have been searching for a while (religiously using HotUKDeals website too) and came across a nice looking one from Dell 'M501R' (which has actually been posted on here).

I 'Googled' Dell M501R and the Tesco website was the first to pop up.

However, you cannot find it by searching anywhere on the Tesco Website (well I couldn't). Therefore, I'm convinced the only reason it's still available it because not many people know it exists there.

This laptop is a slight lower spec than the one already posted on here @ £448.99, but @ £303.20 I think it's an absolute bargain and think the difference in spec isn't worth an extra £145

This Laptop has the following features which I thought were good for the price

Bluetooth
HDMI
1.3mp Webcam (According to Dell 1.3mp is standard for their laptops)
4GB RAM (DDR3)
320GB HDD
5-in-1 Card Reader

Full Spec:

It does say Windows 32 bit, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tesco got it wrong because they've made a few mistakes on other products, but for the price I don't think it will make a huge difference.

Very tempted by this, the price more than anything is what I like. Great find.

Just ordered, supposed to pick up the red ferrari netbook from tesco tommorrow but this is a much better deal for me.Not going to cancel the other deal yet till i know this has been delivered to store.
Hope it comes with the 1gig dedicated video card as per dell website :) That would be a very nice bonus, do not forget TCB people, thanks OP,Hope this does not get cancelled by tesco,

Just voted hot and deal went up by 30 degrees, nice lol

I think the graphics with this processor will be ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4250 integrated graphics
rather than the 1gig dedicated on the Dell site

This one is not the same. It is the one I found originally, but the spec is higher on the one you linked. It has a 500GB HDD and AMD Turion™ II Dual-Core Mobile Processor N530 (2.5GHz, 2M, 3.6GT/s).

However, for the sake of nearly £80, I think if you're looking for value for money, this is the one.

Would you agree?

I'm finding it hard to tell but this one doesnt have a full size numerical keypad does it?

I had a look at this one yesterday seems like this is coming with good graphics...Windows rating is about 5.1. This is a very good one for this price...I'll buy this for this price...but i have an acer one with radion x3100 graphics...
#14
I tempted to buy this yesterday but don't want to spend any money...
#15
HDMI out is a BIG plus. Very good price for the spec u r getting. For those of u wanting to know how good the processor is, I can confirm it has a CPU Benchmark of 1270, which is good but by no means great - but considering the price tag, it's good enough.

Home & Student Office Trial, McAfee Security Centre 10 - 30 Day Trial first programs to be taken off, then shove on microsoft security essentials and zone alarm free and Bob's your uncle, will check in morning to see if order status changes.Glad i picked delivery to store on the ferrari netbook, saved a lot of hassle :)

Then your take on Dell is very different to mine, 4 year old laptop (6400) daily use, very good CS when I needed it, altho I don't mind speaking to India as some do, and overall very happy. Latest 15R's are also good chassis so should be few problems

I mentioned spec as i believe double the ram here and better graphics would outweigh the marginal speed increase of the acer.( well for my usage anyway) Plus the £30 plus saving using TCB and 600 CC points not to be sniffed at either :)
Cannot believe how many laptop deals there are out there at the moment!

Im using my 5 year old dell 6400 that is used every day (sometimes left on for a week at a time and usually taken to work 5 days a week) and at this second is running dreamweaver and photoshop (CS4), office, vlc and firefox with a rediculous amount of tabs. But yea, terrible quality, i have a lose key :P

I was thinking pretty similarly. Has anyone got good advice on this? I'm not interested in the Compaq personally but otherwise, are either of these Packard Bell's likely to be better than this Dell? Processors all seem comparable from what I can see. Cheers.

From what i can see the packard bells have poor graphics, vga webcam and loads of junk trial software on it, IMO a Dell is going to be much better quality

Can't get the link to work. Anyone got a direct link?

Forget that, it was the Android app that was the problem. One thing though - if it's got 4gb ram why the 32bit os?

I mentioned this one in my original post....that's how I ended up 'Googling' M501R and finding it on the Tesco website. It is a better laptop, but for £80 less, for those that only need a laptop for surfing etc. with Bluetooth, HDMI I prefer the £300 option.

However, the one you mention is a good laptop and if I hadn't found the one on the Tesco site, I would have bought the one from Dell at £379
