Not 'new', but good price.

An OK deal. But bear in mind, you can get the 1012 all day long for this price on the Dell outlet, but typically you can easily find it for less than this if you check often enough. There was a few for £158 delivered, about 6 hours ago.

I managed to get the HD version with Crystal Broadcom HD card for almost exactly the same price as this, delivered. It had a snazzy metallic top casing also!

I keep on banging on about this. But if you want a discounted laptop of any kind, just keep checking th outlet.

Simples!

I've been to the Dell outlet store at: www.dell.co.uk/outlet and they don't appear to have anything for sale.

It changes day by day - even hour by hour. Currently there are two 1012's up for sale on there. There was one on there for £138 delivered the other day. You just need a bit of luck and perseverance.

If your an impatient sort, then your deal is an OK hassle free option I suppose ;) I like the satisfaction of finding a real bargain though! :D

I've found one on the dell outlet site for £153.99 delivered but it's a Z520 chip not an N450 like this one. The N450 is 40% faster and it also has a 6 cell battery for up to 9 hours battery life. Which is very useful when travelling.

Not if you want a Dell.

Its hard to find it on the Dell Outlet site but if you go to the following link and then scroll down to the middle on the left on the "Family" section and either tick "Inspiron 1012" or "Inspiron Mini 1011". Currently showing a few.

I recently ordered a Dell mini 1011, 6 cell, N270 £133 delivered (using a £20 off code found on here)

Ok, I've found the exact same model by clicking the "Inspiron 1012" link on the side, I went through checkout applied the £20 off voucher and with delivery it came to £185.69, which is a bit more expensive than the one I found. There was a cheaper one but this only had a 3 cell battery so was not comparable.

Not a bad price but as said above, if you buy from Overclockers you better prey you dont have a problem because once they take your cash they dont want to know.

One of the worst companies ive ever dealt with.

Are you kidding? OC are one of the best component/parts and general PC related stuff retailer in the UK. Never had issues and suspect I never will considering the sheer effort their customers services put in to maintain the overall rating of the company!

I can see you buy lots of PC stuff,NOT because if you did you would know that overclockers has a terrible reputation just google it and just because you have had good service there are 1000's who haven't overclockers is a joke outfit second only to Aria. When things go wrong overclockers are the worst company on earth you find they either sort it quickly or not at all and you feel like smashing your head off a brick wall as they dont seem to care when they have your money.

I bought one of these last week.
100 mile round trip to collect. I asked the staff member to confirm that it was the model with Bluetooth and 6 cell battery, and he confirmed that it was, but when I got it home it did not have either.

Rang OC on their premium rate number, there is no other contact method. I calculate the call cost me £2-3.

I was first told that because I collected it, distance selling regulations did not apply!
I politely reminded them that Trade Descriptions act did, and was then told I should mail it back for a refund. I stated that I did not see why I should incur postage charges for their mistake, and would be willing to take collection of the correct item by Currier and pass the wrong item to the Currier for return. They stated this was not possible.

Mailing the Item via Parcelforce will be over £12
So now I have another 100 mile round trip tomorrow for return or exchange.

And the possibility of no netbook to take on holiday on Thursday.

I will give a further update when I return the item

I certainly wont be using OC again!

The product page on their website now states it comes with just a three cell battery.

If you need all of the bells and whistles, then you might want to check out this deal thread - I appreciate it's bit extra in terms of cost (with the possibility of cashback via Quidco or TopCashBack) but you will get a larger hard drive, higher capacity webcam, bluetooth included and the six cell battery.

HotUKDeals - eXpansys - £199.99p (Possible 3% Cashback via Quidco or TopCashBack) - Open Box Dell Mini 1012 Netbook, 6 Cell Battery, Windows 7 Starter Edition, Bluetooth, 1.3MP Webcam, Multiple Colour Options £199.99 @ Expansys
