wow why so cheap?
#2
Can this run Windows XP/Vista?
#3
because the specs are really basic. Designed for a basic word processing or internet browsing machine really. Voted hot.
#4
I assume some kind of open source word processor can be used on this device?
#5
£99?! is that correct?

#18
Price inconsistent with front page therefore looks like a misprice considering £20 is shipping. Gets good reviews and price normally over £250.
#19
Pretty sure it's a misprice - they were offering it for this price earlier in the week, when you bought an XPS desktop or laptop as well - but only on the ones costing £800+ - so no way this is real.

...but doesn't mean I won't chance my arm....
#20
This is a misprice. Comes up as £269 on other parts of the Dell website. HOT!!!
#21
adding to the basket now....... fill yer boots!

#23
Might be a stupid question but as there is no optical drive how do you install a new operating system?
#24
According to this review, it can run Windows XP.

Battery time, seems to be 3hrs 38mins.

[LIST]
[*]Gets a little hot
[*]Glossy plastic lid is a magnet for fingerprints
[*]No F11 or F12 keys, other function keys in strange location
[*]4-cell battery is nice, 6-cell battery would be better

Using a USB key. I think there's a YouTube video shoeing how to do it.

#34

#35

#36
ordered - Dell quite often play ball with misprices so you never know!
#37
voted hot by me and rep given. my order went through at the £99 price. i hope it gets delivered

it's only an 8gig drive, but thats fine for the intended purpose of netbook, as it's designed for surfing and email really. i presume it's a standard size drive that can be upgraded if required. i'm looking to upgrade my other laptops HD so i can put that old drive in this. i'm going to try and install windows on it, which can be done either by using a memory stick or with an external USB drive. i have a 5.25" caddy that i can stick an old IDE drive in to install windows

i have a 17" dell i got earlier in the year with 2 HD's but its not light, and when i was travelling earlier in the year i realised a smaller notebook would be better and just take an external 3.5" 1TB HD with me. i was just put off by the £200 price as my 17" laptop was only £350, but for £100 it's a bargain. it's also small enough to carry to work and use with my 3 mobile dongle to avoid using the office internet
#38
Ordered - what the heck - cheers OP !
#39
Voted hot - don't think, just buy. It may not be available for much longer - BUY IT NOW!

It might be your internet security, I keep having problems with Kasperkey blocking links from this website.
