im voting cold! product might be great but the dell service is ****!

i ordered well before sum of those that grabbed the £99 deal, yet didnt recieve it!

Dell hasnt heard of the words 'queue' or 'first come, first serve'

so im voting cold

not only that, but because of Dells shoddy treatment im going to swap my loyalty and purchase the Samsung NC10, larger 10" screen and a massive SEVEN hour battery life!

Bear in mind that you can get the Acer Aspire One for £189.00p delivered from Amazon UK - there's a thread on the go about this and I thought it prudent to chuck this onto this one. Note that it comes with a 120GB hard disk but may come with 160GB, as this was seen the last time that it was advertised on this site.

You win some, you lose some. I wouldn't vote cold out of bitterness towards the brand.

I got one but needed more hard drive space so have to agree that the Acer looks good. I managed to get a refurb Advent 4211 with XP. Nohing cmpares to it. ;-)

Warm for price but there are better spec netbooks for the same price.

True. I got a cheap high capacity battery from ebay. Lasts around the same as the Dell (purchased with the profit from the Dell). :whistling:

you might aswell get a normal laptop then?

Yeah this is a good deal. Congrats on your purchase.

I just think it's worth my while (nearly £100 more) to get 7+ hours battery when out with it on mobile broadband, Windows XP + slightly larger screen and the nc10 is very pretty too.

Good post. Should get nice and hot for you:)

currently surfing on mine ...

excellent machine. Upgraded the ram to 2 gig no bother, tripled the disk storage by using the cheap superfast 16gb sd card (transend £17.99 from 7dayshop) and changed the os to xp. Heres a tip for you .... if you already have a dell laptop or desktop with xp you can use the same disk, no need to enter a serial at any time. Only problems you will have is that free storage is down to about 1.5 gb, hence the need for the card so you can have a half decent swap file if needed (upgrading the memory to 2gb negates that) and some minor pathing problems during the installation finding the i386 directory ... which is fairly easy to deal with, its just d:/i386 where d: is the drive you install from. A brilliant thing to use is the xbox360 hd addon drive which works great without the need for drivers .... hope this helps .... the netbook is tremendous !!!!

oh and to all the peeps dissing dell about them not getting deals that other people got ... try changing yor credit card .... you were further down the Q because your credit card didn't allow the transaction quick enough .... live with it

You win some you loose some, hardly a reason for voting cold. This is a different deal entirely therefore you are wrong to vote cold. Dell made a mistake, you wasn't entitled to the Mini 9 at £99. Others got lucky, you didn't. Deal with it and stop posting rubbish :)

Considering this is £249 from Dell and you can have this delivered to your local Tesco, this represents a good deal.

the samsung nc-10 seems the best netbook around at the moment think i will wait for that to drop more in price

Agreed, im doing the sasme, should be picking up my NC10 today, i only swapped because of the keyboard on this thing, too small and didnt have a nice feel to it. Good price though, my mate just bought one for his wife picked it up yesterday. Battery cme installed and totally dead though.

Wise move. I have the NC10 in blue and it's fantastic. Boots up very quick, massive hard drive, great battery life, superb keyboard & even with the standard 1gb ram its fast.

Good price for the Dell (and I get staff discount too), but my Samsung NC10 is fantastic.
Keyboard, screen battery life are all excellent.

And you haven't heard of the word "misprice".

PS it's "served" - the idea is that they do the serving, not you.

You can get the vastly more popular Acer One complete with 120Gb HDD (no messing around with SD cards to grab disk space) for less money - voted cold :)
#30
LOL at the idiots putting the boot in to Dell when this is a Tesco offer.
Bought one from *TESCO* last time it was posted, with voucher and quidco.
Great little PC (netbook), Dell are my second favourite builder after IBM/Lenovo.

Yeah SD cards are a real hassle  the kids of today eh etc etc ;-)

Shouldn't the title be Mini 9 and not N270, isn't N270 the cpu?

The bit with the prices and how long theyve been on market is missing :?:
Lenovo is about a £1k IIRC and acer are the cheapest

As far as the latter is concerned, the Acer is quite remarkable when compared to the Asus.

Voted naively, missing the point. You don't need a 120GB disk drive if you're not stuffing the thing with music or videos, which don't interest many people. Oh and not only is the SSD silent (as well as more robust), but the Dell has no fan, making it the only completely silent netbook as far as I am aware.
#37
voted hot. Dell are not that bad.

Comes with ubuntu (according to description in post) which is a good linux distribution unlike a lot of the **** ones they put on net books.

I got a HP 2133 from ebuyer at £200 (linux , vista was £400) - this is the best small netbook - 1280x800 screen thats why. Most have 1024x600. It does make a major difference.

I didn't get one from the manufacturer when they mis-priced them so therefore THIS is a bad deal? nice logic.:whistling:
