They had quite a few in stock at the time of posting.
Dont forget to add the £55 off voucher to make this worthwhile.

wheres the voucher

There is no voucher, when you add it to your basket their is an option to add a £55 off thing, just do that (should have made that more clear in OP, sorry. Have also added a direct link)

Sorry, new to netbooks. Whats ubuntu like? Wouldnt 8GB be too small for more than the basic use? Is this a good deal? Thanks
#4
i think its a very good deal,if its true and available.Especially with ubuntu on it should fly..
#5
Dell always have £55 off outlet systems. They often have more off but then they drop the free delivery.
#6
shame you cant actually buy anything today as their checkout is broken, called them and they cant take orders over the web either at the moment as

i have a 4gb version for £114 in my basket and cant pay for it.
#7
Me too !!

I know I'll miss refreshing and lose it soon...
#8
I'm crossing my fingers they get this sorted soon - at £114.12 it seems rude not to :)

How are you getting it to 114 and 112 pounds? The 512mb one comes at 120 something and the 8gb one at 136...

Of the Asus (can get for 150 pounds) Acer ( can get for 150 pounds) and Mini 9 (136 pounds) which would you recommend?

only by being patient, there are some 4gb/512mb ones (probably stuck in peoples cart unable to check out) at £154 before discount/vat/delivery which are the £114 ones

all these netbootks are pretty much the same spec for ££ except those with HDD rather than SSD. best thing to do is go to PCworld and play with them all see which you prefer. Personally i prefer Dells especially cheap outlet dells

It was a misprice that was nicely honoured, for most, by Dell.

All the cheap ones have gone for the moment. As above, Dell say no one can check out at the minute as the systems gone down !! People have them in the baskets and if you hit refresh every 10 minutes or so they stay there.

Dell add new ones to the list a few times a day, normally on the hour.

Ubuntu is a version of linux. 8 gigs more than enough for that to run. There are a number of site that'll show you how to get XP on one if you want it. You end up with about 4 gig free.
remember their only netbooks not laptops.

[FONT=Verdana]Much like the Acer & ASUS netbooks, the Dell Mini netbooks have a popular following and have various support forums in place - the best one for more information would be the MyDellMini Forum and website.

Listed below are the links to them and if you need a hand at all please give me a shout.

definately expired now Dell have nudged the prices up the same mini9 ive had in my basket for the last 3 hours (E6VGDFM8) has gone up from £154 to £172 (before discount)
#19
Interesting, all the models have now shifted in price.

About an hour ago the Ubuntu 8Gb/ versions were £174ish before the discount and before VAT, now that price point is occupied by the 4Gb model. The 8Gb model are now starting at £195ish (again before discount and VAT).

I'm glad I ordered earlier then. I bet later on as it gets towards midnight (the end of the discount offer) they'll start selling for £99 before VAT and I'll be gutted I didn't wait :-D

Edit, just checked it again and now the 8Gb start at £211 before discount and VAT!

Cuddy, were you actually able to buy one today? Ive been trying since 3pm ish and its not been working.

interestingly the discount now shows as £61 not £55

majhaar, it didn't work at first. On the page where you enter address and phone numbers most of the images were missing and then pressing the continue button (or the placeholder for it) would bring up an error message. I waited a bit and still no go. Then tried a different browser, the images loaded up and completed checkout just fine.

You should have just phoned them as now the prices have all gone up and the increased £61 discount isn't going to bring it back down the correct price :-(
#22
interesting, i tried 2 browsers on 2 PCs and still get the same error (no images and clicking on where checkout should be giving an error)

i also phoned and they said they couldnt process orders either, you must have just been very lucky

If anyone is still reading this thread and wants the WWAN version (builtin 3G modem, bring your own sim) then there are some on there now. Look for the price point of £211.15 XP with WWAN and 8Gb + 1Gb. After discount is removed and VAT added it works out £171.94 :)

It must specifically say "with WWAN" in the popup window when you click on the 8digit "System Identifier" code in the listing.
