Does anyone know how much this costs to run for colour printing ? If one has a very low usage, will the cartridges keep for a lengthy period once installed ?

unfortunately it will prob be a rebadged lexmark printer, dpi is pathetic, as is the ppm
but its cheap for a colour laser and can be networked
just check the running costs though

Just to copy myself from another post:

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY LIFE. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN AFTER LAST TIME.

If you don't believe me, try contacting them via their website and see if you get a reply. You won't.

Yeah... I used my brain and called them up and got through to someone in about 2 minutes and they dealt with my query quickly and without fuss. One bad experience does not make a bad company

Laser printers don't use ink so they won't dry out.

But if left for long periods the toner can cake up and go solid. But only very rare cases.

Yup. Another point is toner's are expensive as well.

I sent an external HD I bought from CDiscount back before Christmas because they sent me a clearly used one, and I still haven't received a discount AND they charged my credit card for the 2nd payment! Not a very reputable company IMO.

depends on the make and if its colour or just black (mono lasers are much cheaper to run than inkjets, whereas colour lasers can be expensive - hence i have 2 printers a mono laser for most prints and an inkjet for colour/photos/copying/scanning/faxing)

Yes but the toners themselves are expensive compared to ink to buy even though they do last a lot longer.

Sadly there is £30 postage to add on making it about £83 delivered.
PC world still have the HP Colour LaserJet CP1217 - Colour Laser Printer for £97.86, reduced from £149.99

It's all relative though, you get more prints you pay more. My mono laser has been a lot cheaper to run compared to an inkjet (for mono), the printer cost £50 (old Samsung) and each refill has cost £10 and last 6 months to a year depending on use. You do have to be a lot more careful when choosing colour lasers though as it can be quite expensive if you pick the wrong one.

how many photos could this print on average, never used laser one before for pics, how the quality compared to inkjet,i using the 830u photo epson at moment, want something for decent pics though, mine not good enough

Utter rubbish! For photo-printing lasers suck unless you spend silly money £1k+.
For photo printing a decent Canon or Epson with CISS is the best for quality and cheap running cost imho!

Also it depends on what your importing! If say you were importing leather goods then customs will royally ass rape you!!

No they don't.

Just to point out that it was my opinion.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY LIFE

Well done that you got through straight away by using your brain. Although I don't see how "using my brain" would help me get through the 10 min+ queue to get through and the lack of response to ANY email. I would love it if "using my brain" could improve a company's customer service.

Still stick by the fact I have sent numerous emails, and made many calls and no emails have been responded to and it took over 10 mins to get through on hold. Disgraceful.

You called them up once and waited 10 minutes. Sure that might not seem great but what about all the other people who get picked up straight away or within a minute or two? I used to work for a HP repair agent and had to call HP up lots and sometimes you'd be waiting for half an hour at the worst times which was pretty bad but 9 times out of 10 you got an answer within a minute or so. Businesses simply can't afford to have people sitting around just in case, this adds to overheads and makes them less competitive in the marketplace.

Emails will always be second to phonecalls. Unless you need an audit trail the best thing to do to get things sorted is to call. I know it's not the answer you wanted but that's how it works.

It wasn't just one phone call. To judge a company on not being able to get through on one attempt would be unreasonable. I called them 10+ times with over 10 mins wait every time, and I have emailed them easily 15-20 times.

Don't tell me how to give my opinion.

I didn't "want an answer" from you at all... I didn't even ask a question, I just stated that they have disgraceful customer services IN MY OPINION.
