Voted hot, the Dellmeister strikes again.
Yes this was listed on their site last week but with no mention of a dell warranty so I thought it not worthy then, since then its been added that it comes with a full dell 3yr warranty so its now well worth it for peace of mind and you wont get another current dell with 3yrs for this money.
Indeed the business warranty on this dell is very good
voted hot!
Good deal. There will be a lot of people thinking that the spec is poor in comparison to Inspirons on offer at similar prices, but they are built to a price whereas the Latitudes are built to stay the distance.
Wow, nice fine. small, portable with a 12" screen for just over £400 and 3 years garantee.
Their site seems to be down at the moment.
Works for me Jefft
Yeah I got all the way to the last page of checkout and then got an erroe page, doesn't look like it's taken my order!

Great find though MikeT!
Tried several times and now working.

Thanks for finding the deal Mike.
I would ring them to make sure if someone is there today, these will all be gone by lunchtime!
Stock level now 16 units!!
Do you know if it is international warranty? Or may I transfer it to Canada?

This is on other forums now so grab one quick if you need one as the stock will be gone in a short time.
Seems think4's server cant cope with the traffic so just keep trying till you get in.
Yep it looks as though the server keeps crashing, I've persisted with the refresh button and I think I've bagged one.

As you know I've been on the look out for a 12" lappy for some time so if this does go through (and I think it has!!) I'm one happy bunny!!!!

Cheers Mike, rep added
Great find - managed to bag myself one - my first HUKD purchase !
Only 14 left now - Have to be persistant with the site though as it kept bringing up error pages.
Cheers Mike !
Phew! Got one after 50 mins trying!!! Thanks Mike.
Hi guys,

Can anyone enlighten me; Are these refurbished? as it says they will be repackaged in a plain box. If not, why the repackaging?

Also, does it come with the usb caddy for the cd etc? if so what kind of drive is it?

Thanks for the Thanks:thumbsup: and welcome to HUKD both of you.
Thanks mike, been looking for a lappy for ages, price is right on this baby, site worked o.k for me. Voted hot & rep for ya troubles :-)
The seller confirmes they are new items Russ66 and as such have dells own 3yr warranty, I wouldnt worry about the plain boxes. Perhaps this was a corporate order that got cancelled and the original boxes from dell had the buyers name and address on them.
I believe the drive was a combo, thats dvd play and cd write/rewrite
Update - only two left!

I got my email to confirm my order! Woohoo!! :):)

Thanks again MikeT
Very nice, very tempted.

But it's not on the Dell free Vista upgrade this?
thanks mike,

was looking for 12'' lapie fo ages, shame it hasn't got firewire, but I can get PC card with firewire for about £20, cool, voted hot, rep added
Thanks MikeT! Just in time :-)

Very extensive review (with pics) here:-
This looks really good. Just logged in too late as now says no stock. Never mind but thanks for pointing this out Mike T

For those of you that bagged one of these, it may be worth checking your battery;

Thanks Russ66 , that's very helpful. I'll certainly be checking this out if/when my lappy turns up.
Remember - you can almost always blag extra warranty periods / warranty upgrades from Dell at under the advertised price if you need to.

The business warranties are top class with most repairs being either a service engineer called out to you or a collect and return service that usually takes just 3 days including the collect and return days!
Many thanks MikeT, managed to get one earlier today, really appreciate all the seeking out you do to find these deals.

I'm about to buy some extra memory - 512mb from crucial to bring it to 1GB. Just struck me that it may come with 2x256MB in the 2 slots rather than 1x512MB, anyone any ideas on this? Also if I add the extra ram myself do you think my 3 year warranty would still be intact?
funki, wait till it arrives before getting more memory, it will work fine with whats in there for now, you may get lucky and just have 1 strip too.

It wont invalidate the warranty to fit more ram.
I have 2 of the previous model the D400. Good solid machines, nowts gone wrong in the 2 or so years I've had them.
Cheers MikeT, good to know it won't invalidate the warranty, I'll hold off for now and see how it performs.

I have expired this deal as the stock is now zero, I will try to keep an eye on them from Monday to see if more appear though.

Quick update - 3 now in stock and more stock expected soon, for those who missed this deal at the weekend :) - Click!

Shame the DVD/CD isn't integrated and is connectable via a USB; but I suppose that's the price you pay for keeping the weight down and ultra-portability. Looking forward to receiving it soon :).
Another update - 13.50 - none in stock again, those 3 didn't last long!!

Yep, can't wait to see mine too! :)
